The Cotton Exchange

Great indoor shopping in an old style warehouse building with a huge variety of novelty stores - if this is your thing, then search no more. It's the best concentration of shops in one climate controlled area that you will find in the downtown Wilmington area. Plus, it makes for a great escape from the sultry summer humidity or to get out from that afternoon thundershower. There is a huge variety of unique stores to shop. If it's time you have than this place can fully occupy it. If you venture into all the shops I imagine you could be spend anywhere from 3 to 6 hours, depending on how fast/slow you are.

The Cotton Exchange itself is an amazing building. The way they set up the building for the stores is great and I love the layout. Makes you feel like you don't know what's around the corner. Great area with plenty of shops to get a cool gift or book. Plenty of parking in the area.

I simply love shopping this little mall. Having a amazing cup of coffee, the ice cream is great. Down to Earth for my organic oils and soaps plus so much more. Variety of foods to try. Olive oil store. Clowns making balloons in the walkways. It's a very old building that was a actual cotton exchange. Plus so much more. I take all my friends and relatives that visit me there. Once you visit you're hooked.

My wife and I always enjoy our trips to the Cotton Exchange. Unique shops for gifts or something special for yourself. For the appetite there is the German Restaurant, the Dogs Allowed Coffee Shop and for dessert, the ice creme store has many varieties. Enjoy just walking around the stores. Plus, you are in the old area of Wilmington with the boardwalk, stores and excellent eateries.

I've been coming here with my family since I was really little~ Excellent spot to walk/explore and look in and out of stores. They have parking in the back ( be careful, it has a time limit and is checked! ) and multiple entrances and exits~ There's a delightful cafe streetside if you'd like to have a treat while shopping. Besides being personally nostalgic, it's a really beautiful building, so much character! It's worth a visit just to see it~
