Beautiful setting for an afternoon tea at the Boston Public Library. For a set price, you get champagne or a non-alcoholic sparkling beverage, an assortment of tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts. Everything was tasty especially the scones - they were to die for! There’s a wide selection of tea as well. It’s a perfect place to catch up with friends or just to soak in the history of Boston.
This was an exceptional experience and hope to do this every time I visit Boston. As a book lover the menu ticked into books was an exceptional touch. Of course given this place is located at the beautiful Boston public library it makes sense. The food was more filling than expected and was very tasty!
August 2022: Enjoyed the tea menu at the courtyard tea room inside the Boston public library. You have to walk through the Map room to get to the courtyard room which gives you a view of a beautiful room. There are many tea to choose from and I chose the white peony tea. It went well with the food. My favorites were the white cake and all the sandwiches . The cucumber sandwich was refreshing. The chicken sandwich was really good. The lobster sandwich tasted very fresh. All the scone toppings were great lemon curd and raspberry jam. For starters, they served a corn gazpacho which was delightful and it was accompanied by a salad with potatoes, pea and pickled onions! Delish . Service was friendly. Would come back again for afternoon tea!
What a great treat! We enjoyed their “holiday tea” and were blown away by the experience. All of their food was excellent and I appreciated that we could order as many pots of tea as we wanted. I would definitely reserve another tea experience here the next time I come to Boston. It’s also nice that they’re located in Boston Public Library so you can walk around the library after tea.
We very much enjoyed our experience here. Our toddler daughter loves tea parties and we pretend it was a royal tea event . It really was a highlight in our family Boston vacation. The tea and refreshments were delicious and we could enjoy some nice grownup quiet experience with her enjoying the kids menu. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and offer a kids menu that includes a fruit cup for the starter, different sandwiches from the adult savory options: peanut butter & jelly, Nutella & strawberry, egg salad, and chicken salad. It costs about $20 less than an adult meal and the child gets their own plate. The sweet options are the same so it's really worth it.
Tea at the Boston Public Library was fantastic. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, the service was excellent and the tea was great. Food was good. Scones could have been better. However, it was an overall positive experience.Food: 4/5
This was a beautiful experience for my daughter and me. The tea and food were delicious, although I would have preferred more savory options. There were many sweets on the trays. The ambiance can't be beat!
Set in an elegant and picturesque space, Courtyard tea room is a perfect place to celebrate special occasions. I recently took my family here for the Copley afternoon tea, and as we walked in, we were instantly captivated by its bright and inviting atmosphere. Needless to say, the selection of specialty teas were also top notch. The Cozy Copley was our favorite, but other tea choices were excellent as well. After a light start with the gazpacho and salad, we were introduced to a medley of bite-sized treats on a three-tiered tower. The bottom tray with the savory sandwiches was particularly noteworthy. My favorites were the herb chicken salad and the prosciutto de parma. From the sweets, we were impressed with the rich and creamy peach cheesecake and the matcha cookie. On the other hand, the top layer of scones was a bit lacking as they didn’t seem to be freshly baked. While the food overall wasn’t an S-tier quality, this was a memorable experience for our whole family. Getting a reservation required a little effort as I had to snag one months in advance, but I would definitely recommend coming here even if you’re not a fan of afternoon teas.
This is a place to bring someone special when you want to treat them. It's an expensive indulgence in an amazing atmosphere. You get to sit inside a beautiful room for 90 minutes enjoying some delicious scones, finger sandwiches, desserts and, of course, tea. It's elegant and delicious.
Fun place for tea. We were seated next to the window by the courtyard so there were a few awkward stares from passerbys. I liked most of the items presented. Tea was good, but not much of a variety. Was disappointed that we were never offered more tea or really checked in on at all until we asked for the check.
