We have been wanting to try out this place but have not been able to due to COVID. We were finally able to get a date night and the plans we had got cancelled so we went to The Craic. For one the live music is incredible and we will be back for that 100%. But not only that, we enjoyed the atmosphere so much! The bartenders were so sweet and made you feel comfortable. We ended up going back for lunch the next day and brought our daughter and even she loved everything about it. The presentation of the food and the taste are incredible! Due to some recent Missouri weather they were out of Guinness…. yes I know, an Irish Pub without Guinness sounds terrible to some but let me tell ya, we will be back. Guinness or not, they deserve 10/5 stars for both experiences.
The Craic in Parkville MO is a clean, well lit, and friendly gem of an Irish Pub in the small town of Parkville. The Craic offers an unexpectedly impressive collection of whiskeys, spirits, beer and wine offered by a friendly and knowledgable staff. While driving across country my son and I stopped in Parkville on a Saturday night. The appealing Caig caught our eyes and we wandered on in. We asked for a local whisky recommendation and our bartender helped with some recommendations. The locals were friendly and before long we were enjoying lively conversation and tasty libations. If you go be certain to check out the private room in the back. Its partially carved into the rock and have a very cool vibe. TheBillo313
First time coming here. The food was excellent and the service was great. Cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff. We will be back!
We've come here at least half a dozen times, and definitely recommend. Their poutine fries are our favorite! The lamb/beef burger is so tasty and seasoned super well. I would describe this place as having a small, well crafted menu of elevated pub food in the best possible way. So you can get a phenomenal burger and fries, and/or great veggie options too Staff is always friendly and helpful. Logistically the place is small, so not really for groups. There are a couple larger tables at the front, that are often taken, so if you're coming with friends, it's a gamble whether or not there's a spot, but worth a check for sure. If there's just 2 of you, there is plenty of options.
Wonderful service and food! We tried the Irish Dip, Shepard's Pie, Ruben and Grilled Cheese. All great! The pountine was different than we're used to, maybe needs more gravy? We didn't get our waitresses name, she was a young, blonde with long hair running the entire place by herself with a full bar and several groups of diners. Hope the manager sees this because she was an absolute delight...fast, kind and very helpful. Loved the historic building and traditional Irish music. Plus they have a large drink menu with local craft options, as well.
We stopped into have some lunch and I was pleased to see Shepard's Pie on the menu! It was delicious and the lamb was cooked perfectly. My hubby got the Patty Melt that came with hot french fries. I stole a few and they were pretty yummy. I think we will be back soon to see some live music. Thank you for a great experience!
Pretty much every time I'm in Parkville, and I want to chill out in a bar, I head over to The Craic pronounced CRACK. My drink of choice is hard cider, which --happily--is on tap. When it's nice outside, the windows are wide open, and it feels like the energy from Main Street spills in like filtered light in late afternoon: murky, comforting warmth. That's my overall impression of this picturesque town. Parkville oozes charm: That's why so many people want to live here. I haven't been to The Craic when it's lively, and I appreciate the relative quiet. You can have a conversation without having to yell, and there's always a barstool waiting for you to plop down on. If you pull up a stool and see a middle-aged blonde, say HI JULIE and join me. This is the kind of place better enjoyed with a new friend or two.
Wow. Just wow. If you get the opportunity to go to The Craic, go. And get the Spout Chips because they're the best thing ever. Salty. Delicious. The rest of our food was good, nothing fantastic but I will absolutely write home about those spout chips. Beers were great, amazing whiskey/scotch collection. Will definitely be back again.
I'm so excited to have this addition to Parkville! They are reportedly adding to the menu regularly as they try a few things out. I would like to see the portions to get just little heartier. We tried it for lunch and I left a little hungry. I prefer to leave with leftovers. Tons of TVs here if you want to catch a game. I'm definitely going to frequent this place. I wouldn't consider the Craic accessible if you are in a wheelchair. Have visited a second time and I'm adding additional pictures.
Excellent food! Cool spot in downtown Parkville! Had the patty melt with fries and lamb appetizer. I would highly recommend!
