The Culinary Center of Kansas City

Took the pro series 1 class and absolutely recommend it to any and everyone that is seriously interested in learning more about cooking. It far exceeded my expectations and was worth every single penny of the cost. Not only did I learn a tremendous amount about technique and terminology, but made me fearless of attempting new things in my own kitchen. Absolutely the best thing I have purchased for myself in many many years. Will be signing up for pro series 2 as soon as able.

My wife and I went to the knife skills class and had a great time. Our only complaint is a small one; we wish the snacks were prepared by the Center instead of purchased by Costco. The Center should prep snacks based on upcoming classes. Tip to the owner: If you had an ipad mounted somewhere people would be able to sign up for classes right there. It's a no-brainer... a high-intent audience who just had a good time in one of your classes is very likely to convert to repeat customers if you lower the barrier to conversion. We left with intentions to sign up for another class but you can't take intentions to the bank. We'd have signed up for another class on the spot last night. Food for thought (ha - see what I did there??)

Beware the Tiny Tots classes. The website is unclear about guests (unclear about most things really). If you are not registered for a class (I.e., you just come to take picture of your loved ones) they will literally kick you out of the building in front of your family.

The KC Culinary Center never disappoints. All the recipes are delicious and the chefs and staff are all extremely friendly. The kitchens are cozy and equipped for fun, hands on cooking.

My wife and daughter has been to the Culinary Center before and enjoyed it. Today they were scheduled for a "mother and daughter" class at 10 am, but unfortunately my daughter developed a high fever yesterday. We were hoping it would pass by this morning so they can attend but no. So my wife calls and explained the situation. We were told sorry you need a 5 day notice for a refund, not even credit towards a future class. Whoever spoke to her replied, "You can still go." Ah my daughter has a fever of 103F and you want me to go to a mother and daughter cooking class without my daughter. Wow! We are not asking for a refund, but at least credit towards a future class.
