The Daily Planet

So we went to daily planet as it's one of the places that I've heard has been here the longest. It's not the food that gave it a downgrade but rather the service. The waitress was rude, and I'm not sure if she was 'on' something but she scowled everytime we spoke. We ordered an omlet the daily planet special and a quesadilla... I've had better of both in worse places. The food felt and tasted thrown together and the service was subpar. Apon eating as we went to the car homeless people began to walk up to our windows begging for money and food. We got out of there quick. Won't visit here again.

Very disappointed! We were excited to try this place after reading the reviews. The pictures were noting like what we experienced. The waitress was cold and very uninviting. We did not get silverware or napkins. We could not make any substitutions. There were no sauce options on the buffalo wings. The meal came to $37 for two people. Our waitress never once came to our table after we ordered. We had to go to the bar for everything we needed for our meals.. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. The whole experience was a huge disappointment and I was sincerely excited to try a place with such great reviews.

Love this place, lotto machines pay off, food is good, Service is good. Love the regulars Never a dull moment Bar tender and others sometimes dance for fun

I’m a little ticked off that I didn’t start coming to the Daily Planet sooner! Great neighborhood bar, great food, and yeah sure, it’s not in a great part of town, but I live here, too. Nice servers with personality. Exceptional prime rib and lobster tail on Valentines Day - they really did it up and it was adorable, affordable, and delicious.

We totally love this place, for their awesome burgwrs, great beer selection, and friendly service. Sure it's a dive bar, but they allow kids, and it's the best burger east of 82nd Ave. Try it! Update - 8 years later. We still love this place, and we just got done with awesome burgers, one their house special with ham, bacon, egg etc. and the other was a jalapeno pepper jack. So good.

We’ve been going there at least once or twice a month for the past year for breakfast and it was always good until today. My sausage had a huge clump of hair cooked into it. It was disgusting! Called the waitress over and showed it to her. She was disgusted to. Took it and came back about 15 minutes later with 2 more sausages. She said that she told the cook that it looked like it fell on the floor and he needed to make me new ones. I told her that I had lost my appetite and wasn’t going to eat any of it. My boyfriend didn’t eat much of his breakfast either. She didn’t charge for mine which she shouldn’t of because I didn’t eat it . She said she would have the manager call us but that didn’t happen. I wish I would have taken a picture before sending it back because if it was posted on here I don’t think anyone would eat there again. I know we won’t!

Wasn't too busy which I liked. Bartender was pretty awesome, friendly and attentive. The food I wasn't all the excited about. I'm sure it's just me, But the item we ordered was hard to actually eat unless I took it apart Club/BLT can't remember which. But it was hard to eat. I would go back still cause service was great.Food: 3/5

The first time we went here it was nice, good food and great service, the bartender had brown hair. This was last year. And now we went tonight and the bartender whose name I heard is JAMIE was a mega bi***. I don’t know if it’s because we were not her regulars because she was treating people she knew so nice but us who don’t go there, she was just plain rude and cold. We did not feel welcome there at all and will probably never go back again…. After reading the reviews I can see this is a normal thing also. I tip well usually but not when the service is bad like that and the bartender is rude to people who are just trying to go out to eat. I still left a tip but not much. Next time learn that and fix your attitude, you could be making more in tips if you were not like that. Hopefully management can tell her to switch it up because she is loosing them money!

3rd time I've gone to this establishment recently. Service is horrendous 20 minutes sitting at the bar just to get a menu & I had to initiate the interaction. No a acknowledging, eye contact, booo , nothing. Then, when I engaged, employees gave heavy sighs as if I was asking for too much. There are too many other quality places to get a basic menu item & spend your hard earned money, DON'T SPEND IT HERE!

My husband and I went to one of our favorite restaurants, Daily Planet, on Powell and 113th at around 12,noon on Saturday 01/28/2023 and sat down. My husband waited a few minutes and then walked up to to bar to ask for a couple of menus. Then we waited and waited the waitress/bartender never came to our table at all in the 20 minutes we were there. She help the other couple on the other side of the restaurant and stood and talk with all the ones at the bar. After waiting 20 minutes and two attempts to get her attention we closed the menu and left. In all the time that we have gone there we have never had that kind of customer service. We will not be going there for now. Sorry but we don't feel we should have to sit and be ignored and made to feel like we weren't worth her time and effort. She had bleach blonde hair and ware a leather dog like collar.
