A really lovely park that the whole family including your dogs can enjoy. There are 3 small ponds and a lot of people like to fish here. I know they keep the ponds stocked and at least one of them is "catch and release". There is a great walkway around the park and ponds with lots of nice art installations along the way. There are also picnic tables as well as a children's playground. If you take a short walk south you'll find yourself at the Rio Grande. There is a nice sandy walking trail running parallel to the river that goes for quite a ways. Just a little further off from the river and walking trail there is a paved path that a lot of folks like to ride their bikes on. There are a ton of ducks and geese walking around, and swimming in, the ponds. And this brings up my only issue with the place and it's not the park's fault or the people that maintain it. It's clueless visitors' fault. Although there is a large sign that you can't miss at the pond area with the majority of ducks and geese that clearly tells people not to feed the ducks and geese bread and explains how it is not at all good for them....there are people who will not listen or don't care feeding the birds pieces of bread just as fast as they can. On my last visit a couple of days ago on the first truly beautiful day of early spring, people throwing multiple loaves of bread at the ducks got under my skin a bit but there's really nothing I could do. They already have put a huge sign up. Maybe if there was some type of park ranger or somebody with authority reprimanding people then maybe this issue could be put to a stop. Anyway, the park is lovely and I highly recommend. I look forward to returning when it's warmer weather and everything is green and the trees have leaves. Y'all should check it out!
Great place to go walking, running and biking. It’s not heavily trafficked. Plenty of room and space. Better to get out in the morning while the weather is nice.
This is a very nice area and little park. I was not sure what to expect but I will definitely come back when I have more time. I would love to go fishing at their catch and release lake they have. The geese and duck pond is also very unique and maybe people are out here soaking in the rays and watching them do their thing. There is also a restaurant here but I didn’t go. Maybe I will when I come again.
Nice place to relax and enjoy the Day
Nice walk around the ponds and to the river.
Great place to hang out in the city. There is fishing and walking and biking trails.
I love taking my kids to feed the ducks. They get to play on a fun playground. There is also fishing and paddle boats. If your looking for a fun inexpensive day trip this is the place to go. There a lot of tables and benches in the shade to enjoy nature. We always have a blast!
Fun place to fish!! Very clean & people were great all day long..
Great place for family time or even some solo action, ducks, goose, fish, paddle boats and more near the Rio Grande River, Zoo, bio Garden, and other places to visit.
Great place to wander around and feed the ducks. We took peas and corn with us for them and they really seemed to enjoy it. Remember, bread is not healthy for ducks!
