I just didn't love it here. The bread was dry. The Brussels sprout appetizer was amazing! The beef short rib chili was good....a little watery for my taste. And my main entree was a scallop and risotto dish. Just ok. My friend had crab cakes....once again, just ok. I will say that the portions were large and the food was fresh. It is pricey. We won't be back.
Great personable owner, phenomenal cook trained by george perrier, impeccable cooking and very friendly relaxed service. Dinner was great and I'm looking forward to coming back.
Great meal! Paul gave us awesome service. We're excited to get back asap!!
A friend and I dined here the other day. To start, our waitress was very helpful, cheerful, and courteous. She told us the whole story about the restaurant which was quite interesting indeed. She also made us laugh a few times. The bread was very good and just enough to excite our taste buds. We ordered the pretzel app, and they came out in two bunt type roll pretzels with a side of sweet butter,a side of mustard seed mustard, and a side of regular butter, they were absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the truffle burger, medium well. It was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy big burger with mushrooms, very delicious. I ordered the beef stroganoff, and it had fresh sprigs of garnish on top, roasted Brussels sprouts, oyster mushrooms, sirloin tips. All the food came out better then expected, and the portion sizes were adequate. The inside is very quaint and a comfortable environment. We dined outside it was great to eat super fresh farm to fork food on a beautiful day. We will definitely be returning
Best Hamburger in town! Delightful surprises in changing menus and ingredients depending on what’s available locally and fresh from their garden. Creative, one of a kind salads, including the best asparagus with fried egg plus homemade Caesar dressing. I know it sound weird, but it is fantastic, something created by the chef. Friendly and warm atmosphere. There are chain restaurants with same same same, and then there is the Farmhouse where you get to taste creative, delicious, farm fresh food.
My new favorite restaurant! Everything we ordered was excellent! I had a hard time choosing why to order because the entire menu sounded amazing. Really nice environment. My only complaint is that the hostess seated us in section by the door and every time the door opened we got a burst of cold air. The main room had tables available and it was so cozy with the fireplace going that I really wished we sat in there. Next time I am requesting to sit in there.
After going to the Farm House for dinner and having a phenomenal experience my wife and I decided to try the Sunday brunch as it looked very appealing to us. Well let me tell you we had a HORRIBLE experience. After overhearing what I believe was the owner telling what seemed to be returning customers that they have a NEW chef I was very skeptical to say the least as this could be a good or bad thing. My wife ordered over medium eggs and they came out over hard every diner we go to knows how to cook over medium eggs but this place DOESN'T and I ordered the SOS short ribs on biscuits with gravy for $15. The gravy was barely past the point of just PLAIN OLD MILK and very little of it and the biscuits seemed to have been a week old as they were the driest FOOD I have ever eaten and were barely edible I only ate 1 of 2 and they use the term "FRESH" at this place and I'm certain if someone else got the same biscuits then the owners know that the words I write are 100% TRUE. With a hearty tip the service was again excellent I spent almost $50 for brunch for 2. Needless to say "we will never be back". I could have had a better breakfast at McDonald's and surely at a local diner for a fraction of the price. Maybe it was their new chef, but that would not be my problem. Good Luck to this place and all it's past and future customers.
While the property itself was charming, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. We were seated out on the patio. Constantly being serenaded by the sound of opening and closing of the dumpster. The menu items we're mostly not appealing to me, however I selected filet mignon. It took unusually long time to finally get served our meal and when I cut into it it was severely undercooked. Waitress was hard to find and by the time she came out I was so turned off I did not want another one. We just paid for my husband's meal and left. But of course we had to wait a while to get our bill. Attention to detail counts. So many restaurants to choose from. I do not think I will return to this one.
I love the farm to table focus and local sourcing! Food was good, but I was not blown away. Vegetarian pot pie was a bit of a let down. Good flavor just poor presentation for that dish. Other dishes at my table such as the steak and trout looked very nice.
The Farmhouse was a great restaurant. We went on a Sunday night in the winter and it wasn't that crowded. The service was one of the only downfalls. The server seemed new and she didn't know what she was doing. What we tried to order was also no longer available and she didn't let us know until after we ordered. All the food was extremely fresh and good though. Definitely recommend for a farm to table meal in south jersey.
