The Folly Theater

We enjoyed live music, A Night of Tango, by Bach Aria in this historic theater. Built in 1900, it's a gorgeously maintained and preserved Kansas City landmark. Reading a series of framed articles about the transition the theater underwent throughout the years is an interesting way to spend intermission. Street parking is not so accessible or convenient in the immediate vicinity. I recommend allowing for a few extra minutes to get your vehicle situated, or use the streetcar.

Place is a little too run down. Not rustic, but in disrepair. Shows are good. Acoustics are great. Location is good. History is cool. I'm sure we'll be back.

Very cool historic theater. Even sitting in the upper balcony I had a great view of the performance and the sound wasn't too shabby, either. I found the seats comfortable but if you are really tall or large they might be a bit of a squeeze. One thing to note - they only take cash at the bar. A bit of a bummer but there are water fountains if you're really thirsty and have no cash.

My son and I loved seeing Weird Al and Emo Phillips here. The seats were comfortable and the staff was very polite. I would recommend going too the bathroom before arriving are space is very limited. I am looking forward to coming here again.

An excellent smaller venue for the more intimate shows. The bathroom was kept clean and the bar stocked well. The only issue I ran into was the security staff didn't know much about how the show was going to run until everything happened. Once something happened, we got hearded around.
