I wish I can rate zero. The worst apartments ever. They don't fix nothing. Bathroom floor was sinking and had mold in my kids window, it took 3 years to fix it. Seem like you share hot water with the whole apartment complex how fast the hot water goes out. The water pressure even is low. ALOT OF ILLEGAL ACTIVITY. The staff is rude as can be. I told them another tenant slashed my tire, asked them to run their camera back, they said they would get back with me 3months later and still never heard anything. Also the staff told me to slash their tire back. Very unprofessional. They never answer the phone not even the emergency hotline. You can't even walk inside the office because it's always locked. The parking is horrible. They towed my car because they said I was in another tenant spot, even though the spot had my door number on it. Then when I asked where was my spot they told me I didn't have one yet. Then the next day told me the spot I got towed out of was my spot. PLEASE DONT MOVE HERE
If I could rate them zero stars I would! I've lived here about 5 yrs and a new tenant moved under me and has been he// since day one. The office has claimed that multiple tenants complained of illegal activity coming from my apartment and are constantly threatening me and harassing me with eviction. The street constantly floods because the drains are never cleaned back here and they don't even worry about the people who drive like 50 mph back here. Can't let ur child play outside because of constant bullying and the illegal activities that happen back here. They claim to have working cameras but never "see" what happens! If ur thinking about moving in DON'T!
I move in Aug 2022 I thought the inside was gonna look like the outside but when I walked in I feel in love wit my 3 bedroom I was on ute st never had any problems with the mangers neighbors or work orders anything that need to be fix they came the day after a phone call every one In the office was nice ms Natasha the property manager and the assistant also and after two months they came painting the building nah I move out in July 2023 and only thing I’m just waiting on is my deposit ‍ but if I had a choice to move any where n Harvey it would be the gates of Manhattan and I wanna say keep up the good work to the staff
Rent is high for nothing. I lived here for 2 years. They dont fix anything and never answer the phone. After Ida my kitchen floors was damaged and 4 windows busted and they didnt fix it until i moved out. Office staff rude, plus i was billed for damages to the unit under me because my AC was leaking that they claimed they fixed 3 times. My children couldnt play outside without mess and drama. worsf place i ever lived.
Been living here for almost a year, no complaints. Nice apartments inside. The new manager Danielle, has been making it her personal agenda to make sure that apartments are nice inside and out. I see fresh paint, and grass is kept up and there's always someone early morning walking around picking up trash. Maintenance comes in a timely fashion, and they make sure that safety comes first before coming in. As well, as making sure the tenants are using safety precautions and masked, when entering the office.
The most roach infestation I ever seen.... Feel like I'm living with roaches or roaches living with me. Omg... Why the roaches not paying rent... Rent already high... But y'all can watch everyone through cameras... But can't pick up the phone for requests.. I'm gone because y'all will evict tenants before roaches thanks but no thanks... Y'all tore up
I Honestly Prayed for quite a while be submitting this review. This is after listening to information that was true in the beginning when I walked up on Gates of Manhattan apartments Ground seeking to become a Resident. I had just been through losing housing do to Hurricane Laura,Delta,In Lake Charles,La. Staying several months in a Hotel on Canal St. mind you I originally From New Orleans. But returning back due to hurricane Laura and Delta, the the time Evacuates had been getting was to find housing was before Christmas that yr moved in . Any way I had been to more then 10 other apartments paid application fees 20$ or more which I our conversation lead to Natasha before I went to visit . I ask if there was a handicap accessible 2 bedroom apartment available? This is what I needed , low income, on social security and I was a Evacuee from Lake Charles. I was told no application fee I would be charge, and I would soon be added to low income housing but had to pay the deposit 800$ n because I received fema assistance and applied for rent assistance until I qualify for low income housing it worked through. I did not get handicap apartment ,nor did I get a low income housing apartment I received 2 eviction notices ! 1 rejected because of Covid was still in Order at that time.2ndFema sent some assistance but by it not coming at a payment date for rent the amount was more each time Fema sent it . Then hurricane Ida came Damage the kitchen Bath room some floors Eviction notice 3 I prepared to move my grandson and I . I disabled in wheelchair on oxygen homeless living in a shelter. Finally a week ago apartments called for me to move in to senior citizens unit . What happened! This MANAGEMENT AT GATES OF MANHATTAN SAYS I HAVE 5000$ Damage to there apartment When 1st they rented an apartment to me stating I was going to offered something I didn’t get. The Leasing Agent Saw my Award Letter The apartment was damaged by hurricane Ida The Last thing DANINIALE SAID TO ME IN FRONT THE JUDGE THE LAST TIME RODE MY WHEELCHAIR TO COURT WAS IF I KNEW YOU WAS DEALING WITH FEMA I WOULDN’T Rent and Apartment anyway. I Forgive them n keep Praying For I know Hurting someone by not really knowing it could be you in there condition Cause be Covid I was WORKING THEN CAME THE STORMS ! Homeless!!! But I still have God
This used to be a nice complex from Nov 2005 until 2013. I never had to complain about anything until these past 3 + years. The apartments have become a disgrace and deplorable! I have been trying to get repairs consistently. Management over the past 3 years is horrible. My apt have mold, holes from previous unfinished repairs, gnats from water that's backing up in the tub and facets, a dishwasher that's been waiting on parts from previous over a year, and currently a saturated living room and hallway due to an air conditioner leakage in the apt... and it stinks! Not to mention, my bedroom wall is routinely busted through to repair a leaking tub facet. My neighbors leaking plumbing drops through the bathroom ceiling which has unsuccessfully been repaired countless times. Why I still have traces of mold. Nothing is considered a priority here! Calling the office normally get you to a voicemail. Going into the office only allow you to hear a bunch of lies of false hope! I personally some with New Management in January, whom promised to get my apt straight! Not one maintenance person have shown up yet, to repair or address my list of neglected repairs. The maintenance phone is normally not answered, you have to leave a message and they may call back on the next business day if they return your call. Or tell you they can't come out because it's dark. Nothing but excuses! I can't wait until my lease is up! I do not get any government assistance so I can't call a worker to intervene! I pay out of pocket! So sad. I asked them if they would like to be treated like this! HELP!!!!!
I have been living in this area going into 2 years now... I started off in a 2 bed and made an easy transition to a 3 bed!! Love management she make sure she explain everything to you. Love the staff Natasha and maintenance!! If I need anything done, they come the same day or the next day! Parking is a challenge but it’s getting better! Other than that...... I like it back here!! #affordable
I was calling to inquire about moving back here and the Apartment manager Danielle Smalls has a really bad nasty distasteful attitude! She cut me off and basically said she didn’t wanna answer any questions because they were “ closed “ at 2pm in the day ... luckily a friend of mine use to live here she told me when she lived here they were horrible. The circuits always had a short in it and the air never worked. The doors were coming off the hinges. The bathrooms were disgusting. The tile was coming off. And there was a REALLY bad bug problem.
