A fantastic wine selection and 20 beers on tap pair up perfectly with the relaxing atmosphere and tasty food.
The Glenville Stops is owned and operated by Mike Chapman and his son, Fred Chapman. The building itself is highly renovated and constructed mostly by Mike, Fred, David Nelson (General Contractor), and Juan Pedrosa (Executive Chef). Additional credit for the build out goes to Minas Masonry, RJ Morello Plumbing, Cacciola Electric, and Curran Flooring.
Upon entering, the space seems dominated by a large L-shaped bar, but we have a large dining space and a smaller Snug, our name for the more intimate and private dining area located to the right of the bar. After a look at the bar, something is missing from the average watering hole in Allston: there are no liquor bottles. The Glenville Stops operates with a beer and wine license and we like it that way. This allows us to bring you, the customer, the finest wines we can find and beers that are wonderfully drinkable. We operate on a quality over quantity mantra, so creating a comfortable atmosphere with quality food and beverages is a must.
"Oh," you say after sitting down, "Something else is missing!" That's right, there are no TVs at The Glenville Stops. Sports bar is not synonymous with gastropub, so we eliminated all the things that distract from the dining experience we offer. How can a person enjoy a pinot noir fully if all of his/her senses are absorbed by a loud, bright box?
Are you ready to take a look at the menu?
"We are creating a diverse menu that echos the roots of the neighborhood we are in. Neighborhood comfort food with influences of Latin America, Asia, and the Mediterranean". -Juan Pedrosa
