The Globe

Service at the Globe stinks. The staff, for the most part, isn't really interested in giving their customers a decent amount of service or courtesy. However, on Sunday afternoon, from 4-7, a great freelance Irish band puts on a stellar performance of traditional Irish music. It's a great experience. Lively lads and lassies playing their hearts out. The sanctimonious Globe really stinks in so many ways, but these musicians make it THE place to be in Athens, Ga. on Sunday afternoon 4-7. Nothing special. Veggie burger tasted like a frozen burger from the grocery store and bun was pretty typical as well. Wine and beer selection were ok but not extensive. The lunch menu looked more varied but we were there at dinner and we're not allowed to order from lunch menu. I would go back if nothing else was available. It doesn't seem to get busy even when other restaurants nearby are very busy.

Cozy atmosphere. Not as many college-age students as other bars. The upstairs area is even quieter.

Love the free bluegrass music on Sunday night, nice selection of drinks, food is snacky bar food, Id eat somewhere else.

If you want something to satiate your palate with a new brew, then I recommend this fine establishment. The largest selection I have ever seen. The food is great too.
