My wife was admitted on July 23 with terminal pancreatic cancer. She passed on the 25th. From the moment she arrived to the time she was taken to Wilson's Funeral Home in Gray, she was treated with the utmost importance, respect, decency and care anyone could ask for. They checked on her every couple hours and helped her pass painlessly and with dignity. I highly recommend the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House!
I have very mixed review of the Gosnell House.First the good news its nicely set up fireplace room is great .The nurses were very kind to our service dog myself and to my wife. But I have a similar issue as the Fran Libby review.Mary was completely Mary the last day in the hospital but completely under for the 9 days at the Gosnell House. It was a startling change from day one. Also the Gosnell house is end of life care. But we were recruited3 nurses from Gosnellplus palliative care to a Gosnell that didnt exist at least for Mary.I was told they would put a feeding tube innotI was told she had a good chance of getting stronger going home and receiving immunitherapy never was going to happen.Gosnells official staff plus its palliative care teamates should recruit to the real Gosnell House which has a lot of strengths not an imaginary one.One last thing, its insane that a hospice has a front sidewalk like that
Our father recently spent several days at Gosnell before he passed. Wow the staff and nurses are truly angels! From their patience in answering our questions to the care and dignity they showed our dad - just amazing!
I am filled with appreciation for the care that Gosnell House provided for my father in his final hours. They were truly amazing from the moment we arrived. Everyone was so kind and attentive, and even allowed our puppy to visit. They spoke to my father with such compassion and respect, and kept us informed throughout the process. After he passed, they allowed us to stay for as long as we wanted and continued to treat him with dignity. I can't thank Gosnell House enough for their compassionate care and I would highly recommend them to anyone with a family member reaching end of life.
I am still so moved by the experience we had at Gosnell almost a month later that I felt I should write a review. My grandmother passed away at Gosnell recently and our family’s experience there was wonderful. The hospice house is beautiful—set in a quiet, quaint little neighborhood. It had everything we could need while staying with grandmother and surpassed all our needs. The service and care was more than we could’ve asked for. Our nurse Brian, in particular, was amazing. He took such sweet care of my grandmother and was so loving as we dealt with her passing. He is certainly a special man who made our experience such a peaceful one. I would recommend Gosnell with my whole heart. Thank you for such a peaceful experience.
They are taking very good care of my grandmother. The social worker is doing amazing with a toxic family member. It's a very peaceful and beautiful place. I love the 24hr visitation as well
The staff took such amazing care of my mom in her final days. They were also an amazing support system to our family. So patient and kind. I can’t thank you all enough. A special thank you to moms night nurse Brittany. You are amazing.
My Uncle was placed in the care of the Gosnell House staff on 2/15/22 unfortunately on 2/18/22 he lost his fight. He passed away so peacefully and well cared for , exactly what my family had requested. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant so naturally I look for respect , compassion , dignity and integrity the staff here exceeded all of the above criteria. They were absolutely wonderful to my uncle as well as my entire family during such a difficult time in our lives. To say I am pleased with the care they provided is such an understatement. As far as the visitation went 4 people where allowed in his room at any given time due to covid Of course not ideal however we all alternated in and out and had 0 issues with the staff. My family could not have asked for a better place to care for my uncle during the end of his life. Thank you ALL so much for everything that you do.
My uncle was moved here from the hospital when his condition was no longer responding to treatments. He passed away 16 hours later. But he passed peacefully, just slowly falling into sleep. Thanks to his nurse who noticed signs that he was fading and called us at 4:30am as we requested, we were able to be with him up until the end. I'm so grateful. Every single member of the staff we interacted with were so incredibly kind and gentle, to us and my uncle. I honestly do not have the words to express how fantastic these people are, especially considering how difficult a job they must have. Thank you all.
My Mother was 90 and would succumb to pancreatic cancer. She was an RN from Boston who was married to a surgeon for 48 years. Everyone, the clinicians and staff were outstanding. More so - compassionate and empathetic. Thank you so much.
