The Heavy Metal Shop

So I had to travel to Utah and while I was there, I searched heavy metal and the heavy metal shop is the first thing that popped up,so I knew I must head there and boy I’m glad I did. I felt like a kid pulling up to Candy storea heavy metal candy store and I couldn’t be happier. I walked in and was greeted by Kevin and Casy two really awesome people and the metal was flowing through the speakers they were playing Gojira today. Hell yeah now to all the great things in their store, they have records shirts patches hats, posters, stickers mugs everything a heavy metal fan would like to have and the cool stories that Kevin has is so awesome if you get time and your ins Salt Lake City, you must stop by the heavy metal shop if this is your thing

I think this is the place I went if it's been peddlin Evil since 1987!!! Great shop with some really cool stuff. A must for practioners of the Slaytanic religion!! Cool place , cool owner, lots of stuff to check out!!

Absolutely love this place. We live out of state but visit once a year, this shop is always on our list. Kevin is a super laid back awesome dude. Stop in, get a shirt, maybe some socks or a hat. You won’t be disappointed. The new location is really great. I miss the graffiti on the old building, but the new place is still awesome.

Used to go all the time, long drive and life got in the way. Tried to take my kids, got lost. I know store was in completely different location in my teens, then it was in same place for very long time and remembered how to get there. Saw store closed, Google maps and saw Randy's Records across street. I assumed Google Maps was wrong. Kids were tired too. I guess Google right.

A must stop store if you are ever in SLC and love metal. Heck, even if you don't! This small store is full of music, shirts, hats and all kids of cool items. The owner is awesome. Super glad I had the chance of stopping by and buying a couple of things. I repeat, this is a must stop if you are ever in SLC!

I've known the owner operator of the heavy metal shop for years since the shop was up in sugar house, then exchange place and now the new location. In fact last summer the band pretty boy Floyd had asked me where the shop was at since the exchange place was closed.

The best guy in the metal scene you will ever meet runs this place! Kevin is one of the most kind and genuine people ever and I'm happy to call him a friend.

Kevin is a legend, and his store is iconic. New location is amazing!

It is customary for me to visit the HMS whenever I'm in town from Idaho. I've been doing it since 1988, and I'm proud to be a customer that dates back to the early days of the store! Kevin has always been a wealth of knowledge about music, and a very honest business man. You can always count on him to carry an abundance of the classics on vinyl, a killer shirt selection, and of course, all of the HMS apparel and swag! Over the years, Kevin has become more than a familiar face at the SLC music shop that I frequent. I consider him a dear friend these days. Pay him a visit and pick up some quality goods!

This is one of my favorite shops in the city. Back in the 90s, when I was a teen, I would drive down from Wyoming to shop here. The owner was always so nice and introduced me to so much new music. I am glad that SLC is blessed to still have this shop open! Now my son and his friends shop here. I love it!
