Located in Washington, DC, The Hill Preschool is the oldest preschool on Capitol Hill.
The Hill Preschool, the oldest preschool on Capitol Hill, began as a play group in one family’s home. It was incorporated in 1972 and licensed by the District of Columbia. We have been housed in the Washington City Church of the Brethren since 1979.
Our philosophy is that children learn through play and socialization. Using characteristics of the Creative Curriculum and theme-based instruction, the children are introduced to and experience many aspects of learning. The focus is on the whole child, which means that the children will be given opportunities that allow for growth in all areas of development (social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language).
