We stayed for a couples getaway and Stacee was our hostess. Stacee made us feel so welcome and gave us excellent dinner recommendations. The breakfast is gourmet ! Each room is unique, expertly designed with top notch materials. Our room was the Harrison suite which had views on either side and a very comfy bathtub! It was so impressive to be met by our host upon our arrival at the property! Hands down, one for the books. Excellent B&B experience!
The first thing I would like to say is that I am very picky, and The property met everyone of my expectations. The beauty, the cleanliness and the staff! The old world charm mixed with The contemporary was so impressive! I booked online and we had that Isabella suite , Online it looked the best to me, But upon arrival we were given a tour of all the other rooms. And actually Any of the rooms I would have been thrilled with! I was so impressed! Stacey who greeted us was amazing! And then we met Anna Catherine who also was just as amazing. The two hostesses really complement one another really well.… And what can I say about the breakfast!… Gourmet all the way!… Do not miss out on the breakfast. I came to see Memphis, and I did not want to leave the house!… It was so relaxing and peaceful. Thank you so much for everything you did for us, we will return! Love Jimmie and Joe
Utterly perfect! We stayed at the James Lee after our wedding and it couldn't have been more perfect. Historic charm with updated amenities. The breakfast was divine, the rooms gorgeous, and the beds heavenly. We really appreciated our host giving us a short tour explaining the history of the house. Location adjacent to downtown Memphis was convenient and we appreciated the gated access to the parking lot as well.
Our stay was absolutely amazing! Our room was sparkling clean and very comfortable. The decor was so beautiful. The house itself is gorgeous! It is truly a sight to behold. One of our favorite parts of the stay were the amazing breakfasts created by Stacee. As a vegan, I could not believe the love and care that Stacee put into making the most delicious meals I have ever tasted. The fact that she was so thoughtful about my needs was just so special. My husband does not share the same dietary restrictions so his meals did include some dairy and meat Which was also prepared perfectly!, but let me tell you…Every single dish we enjoyed was beautiful and scrumptious! She is beyond talented! The best part of our visit was getting to visit with Stacee. She is so kind and caring. She is also very knowledgeable about the Memphis area and can help to recommend things to see and do. We loved every minute of our stay! We are so appreciative to Stacee for taking such great care of us and for making our time at the James Lee House unforgettable. We highly recommend this incredible place!
Our stay at the James Lee House was beyond excellent. There was a perfect balance of historic charm with modern amenities. Rooms with their own cooling/heating, adjustable tempurpedic beds, and luxury baths provided an atmosphere of utmost comfort and opulence. Stacee was a superb hostess with local knowledge and helpful suggestions and was an absolute pleasure to talk with. From the French pressed coffee to the flavorful freshly made gourmet breakfasts to the relaxing atmosphere, our mornings were greatly anticipated. Whenever staying in Memphis, we will always choose the James Lee House.
We love the James Lee House! They are amazing for events and provide great services for our clients. We had a client's elopement there in February and they were so great to work with! Highly recommend them for parties, events, and hosting wedding parties. The venue is kept in excellent shape and really photographs well for portraits. Cannot say enough about this awesome venue/bed & breakfast tucked into the heart of downtown Memphis! 5 stars all the way around!
We stayed in the Isabel Suite and would highly recommend the James Lee House. The facilities are absolutely stunning and spotlessly clean - the owners have decorated the house to a really high standard what an amazing bathroom!. Stacee was an incredible host, from delicious breakfasts to great recommendations for places to visit and eat whilst in Memphis. She continuously provided thoughtful touches throughout our stay. The house is in a fab location with secure parking away from the hustle and bustle of central Downtown Memphis, but it is still close enough to walk or get an Uber 5-10 mins from Beale Street. We had a lovely time - thank you so much, Stacee!
The James Lee House is an absolute gem. Stacee is an incredible host. There were absolutely no corners cut during the renovation of this Victorian Mansion and it is very evident in the rooms, decor, and furnishings. You will absolutely enjoy your stay.
Despite being a hotel type of guy, I decided to take my friend’s advice and stay in the Lee Suite of The James Lee House. Let me tell you - I am so glad I listened to my friend! Everything about my experience was extraordinary. The home itself is historically rich and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Inside made you forget about city life by magically transporting you to an elegant experience. I enjoyed waiting for my Ubers in the grand living room that opens to inviting formal dining room, walking up and down the staircase as if I was billionaire businessman, and being treated like a king at a luxury breakfast served by the absolutely brilliant, generous, kind, and hospitable innkeeper/chef, Stacee. The Lee Suite, with plenty of room to host a party for 20 people, offered tremendous light through the huge windows, deep slumber with the stately bed with adjustable settings, and shower/soaking options galore in the huge bathroom! I can keep going on and on, but when you have the beautiful soul of Stacee tending to you and the house, you will leave a better human being. When you come to Memphis, stay at The James Lee House and tell Stacee that Tomlee sent you!
My husband and I had an amazing time at the James Lee House for our anniversary. The house is beautiful with a lot of history and the host, Stacee, is very friendly and makes a delicious breakfast every morning. Strongly recommend if you are in Memphis!Rooms: 5/5
