Story

The "Late Night Speed Shop" started over eight years ago as the unofficial name for my garage, Formerly a hangout for friends, car-club members, and neighbors to work on or watch cars being worked on, capabilities have increased steadily as additional equipment has been acquired.

Many supercharger installs, engine builds & modifications, headers and exhaust systems, suspension upgrades, rear end gear changes, as well as A/C repairs & recharges, electrical diagnostics & much more are completed on a regular basis.

Timing belt due for a change? No problem. We'll replace not only the rubber belt which wears out every 60-90,000 miles due to age and heat, but also the tensioner and idler pulleys, which contain bearings - These aren't quite done with life when the timing belt is, but are destined to cause trouble before the next belt change is due.

Oil leaks, whether on a Civic or an F350, we'll find and repair. Timing chain problems on Ford Modular V8's, stop by and look at dozens of examples of why the plastic chain tensioner guide arms need to be replaced before 150,000 miles. Squeaks, rattles or sloppy suspension? We'll test drive the vehicle with you, while connected to an electronic diagnostic tool that tracks noise & vibration.

Need brakes checked or replaced? Belts & Hoses changed? All regularly scheduled maintenance is done here as well, and we'll only fill your cooling system with a mixture of manufacturer specified coolant and distilled water, which prevents the calcium build up that can wreak havoc on a radiator and more.

Expect to see pictures detailing each major overhaul, project or repair that we complete.

These days, it's hard to put your trust in repair shops. At The Late Night Speed shop, we do our best to remove trust from the equation, by providing a mind-numbing assortment of photographs of your car in various states of dis-assembly and a growing collection of videos pertaining to the automotive experience. If you set foot in the shop while your vehicle is being attended to, you may experience in-person explanations that excite and enlighten some, and sedate others! When feasible, you'll be in the know about potential problems before they turn into a mechanical meltdown.

Quality is a very high priority when it comes to the work we do here, and with that in mind certain procedures are performed with stringent consistency. Bolts are torqued to proper specifications. Electrical connections are repaired in a permanent fashion with solder and heat shrink materials. Vehicles often leave in an extremely different condition than they arrived in. You'll always be free to take dried out, broken, mangled old parts home with you. Whether you want to proudly hang them on the wall, or simply show your significant other on your way to the garbage can, we won't stop you! Unless, of course, there's a core charge.
