For $35 you can get a custom leather belt! Mark helped size it and finished it off with pre-made buckles. What a STEAL! They also carry scrap leather and other stuff for the DIYers. The owner is not frequently there but will apparently do custom orders LARPers with enough lead time.
Owner is awesome we chatted about history good and bad. He is a great guy and one of the few great leather stores in Hampton Roads.
I needed a belt buckle replaced. The clerk who apparently didn’t do any repairs told me he didn’t have a sewing machine. He said the owner could do it but the owner wasn’t there. When I inquired when the owner would be there, I was told “when he feels like it”. I then started looking through the buckles and he said he didn’t like me poking through things and I could leave. I did… and won’t be back
These little dragons are fantastic. We got some at the Renaissance Festival. Absolutely a delight to wear. For jewelry, hair clips, happens, and on our native braids.
Tried calling several times and couldn't manage to reach anyone before driving out there. It's a 45 minute drive for me to get there and them to not have what I'm looking for... oh well.
Horrible Experience. I called and asked if they could make two badge holders for my police K-9. Was advised yes that they had made them before. I never heard back from them. I called multiple always with the promise that someone would call me shortly. Finally asked them to mail my badges back.
Sold me "leather" for $12/sq ft. It's actually a leather product worth $3/sq ft I asked on a facebook leather working group. I was ripped off for shopping local and trusting the guy who runs the shop. Do not buy leather here.
Leather Arts has a nice selection of various of knives, swords, and blades in general. The cashier told me of the leather repairs they do or you could bring in your material and do it yourself,If I was correct in remembering it. I also purchased a battle axe that was in excellent condition and worth the price. I will definitely stop by again.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They are there to help you learn and recommend resources even if it is not through their store. A nice laid back attitude and they are not trying to pressure you to buy a whole bunch of stuff that you don't need. In fact they pointed out that I didn't need to buy one of the tools that I had picked out for what I was working on. He lost $5 on that sale and won a customer for as long as I am in the area.
This quaint little shop tucked into a shopping center was more than I expected. As soon as I walked in the smell of leather hit me and I just took a moment to inhale. The owner took his time with me and he even showed me a sword from India. He had selections of premium leather perfect for making LARPING outfits. He even had some chain necklaces with the call box from Dr. Who. I truly love this store. The owner is funny and cares about brining the savings of whole sale on his products to the customer. This store is worth it to find your LARPING or leather working crafting needs.
