First time visiting this salon and I'm unsatisfied with my hair. It looks nothing like the photo I showed my stylist, Abby. I expressed that I wanted a balayage ombré but instead I got 90s highlights. Halfway through, I realized that she highlighted my roots which I specifically asked her not to do. She attempted to fix it by slapping brown dye on top of my bleached roots but the shade she used doesn’t even match my natural color. I'm seeing different shades of brown & blonde now that I look at it more. It's too warm in some areas and very cool in others. I also noticed that the top of my hair is highlighted to the root, but when you lift up sections of hair underneath, it’s not highlighted to the root and there is very uneven placement. I also didn't like her method of teasing the hair, as that causes further damage aside from the bleaching. Balayage is supposed to be hand-painted. She claims teasing is necessary to blend the color but that’s totally false and shows her lack of expertise. I literally saw clumps of hair when I got up from my chair and I can only imagine how much more hair came out from all that backcombing. I spent 4 years growing it out before finally deciding to color my hair and I am deeply upset that I didn't get what I asked for. And I'm upset that my hair suffered more damage than it needed to from the teasing. And I'm upset about the different shades of blonde. I don't understand how it came out like that when this was all virgin hair. I also asked for a simple blunt haircut, but I’m seeing different lengths and it’s an uneven cut. The technique this stylist uses is equivalent to a supercuts. I thought I was going to a high-end salon but I was sadly mistaken. Even the washing stations didn’t have recliners. They have basic chairs and cartons on the floor for you to rest your feet. Very ghetto and uncomfortable! I feel like $300 and 6 hours in the chair was way too much for something that just looks like a full highlight and for everything else I'm upset about. The salon owner knew about my dissatisfaction and still waited several days until she finally accommodated a partial refund. Despite getting half of my money back, I still have to shell out even more money to get a color correction somewhere else. When in reality, my hair should’ve been done correctly in the first place. This salon charges upscale prices for abhorrent service. What I received fell far below my expectations. I regret spending my time and money here.

Kristina is an AMAZING stylist! You can tell that she is extremely experienced and detail oriented. She really takes her time making sure she gets everything right and leaving you happy in the process. She has done everything from cutting, styling, balayage, highlights, and so so much more for me. Each time she soars over my expectations. Aside from that, she’s always so friendly and kind and knows how to keep a conversation going. My visits with her are some of my favorite, she’s excellent at what she does and the salon is amazing too! 10/10 recommend booking with Kristina and coming to Desert Flower!!Services: Hairstyling

I was new to town and was really nervous to go somewhere new! Let me tell you… I’ll be your girl with the inside scoop. They are wonderful! Briana works some kind of magic on hair and it’s been over a month and my hair still feels and looks great! I’m so excited for my next appointment… what a relief it was to find such an amazing spot that I can fully trust with my hair. I went in with probably over 6 inches of brown roots on my bleached hair and she was able to get me blonde and flawlessly blend into my blonde ends!Services: Hairstyling

I just want to say that this place has been a Godsend I had a bad incident happen to me while on vacation, a fight with my sister in which she tangled and knotted my hair in the process. I was so sad about how things went that I got into the shower to clear myself off. I didn’t think about my hair at the time. I shampood it and after rinsing just got out. I felt the tangle in my hair but couldn’t get it out. After falling asleep with a bun, I woke up to find the most massive knot in my hair. It was hard and compacted. I tried everything, including multiple conditioners I purchased. The next day I found this salon through google reviews and called. Ericka answered and kindly invited me in. When I got there she realized the extent of the brick hard knot in my hair softball size and optimistically decided she wanted to tackle it down. I originally called for a cut :/ thinking it would turn into a bob, mind you my hair was just shy of my butt. Another girl there saw Ericka working and jumped into to release the tiny woven intricately packed tangle. Between the two of them and their experience with handling knots and positive attitudes they amazingly saved my hair, released the knot, and I was able to keep my length. Mind you the knot did have some hair fall out, but it was necessary to save my hair. Ericka gave me a deep conditioning treatment for the damaged ends. She blow dryer my hair to ensure accuracy of the cut and added layers into my loving locks! Even gently curled it at the end. Honestly these two ladies have been the best hair care I’ve had, regardless of the situation that called for the visit. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the level of kindness, willingness to help, and awesome service I received. I feel blessed and love the hair cut. Funny thing is Ericka and I grew up in the same city in California. Talk about fate. Anyway thanks lovelies. Friends in my heart for sure! I recommend you come in and have them add magic and bliss to your hair as well!
