My family and I saw Switchfoot in concert here recently and it was overall a very good experience. The venue is smaller in size than others I've been to, and I liked the closeness to the band and the stage. It was clean with bathrooms and a bar. Generally a very cool place to see a music gig.
Sound was nice with hearing protection in - available at the bar. Crowd was well behaved. 2 hours plus of standing on the concrete was a bit much. Wish there were some seats. You have to go through a metal detector to get in, leave your edc in the car.
Originally planned a trip to see Coheed & Cambria here as my first visit but pandemic got in the way. I donated the ticket refund back to the venue trusting this was a place that needed to be saved. That decision was well worth it. Finally rescheduled a trip to see a sold out Metric show. And it was AWESOME!! Venue is fantastic, staff is friendly, and the show sounded great. A really nice open floor layout compared to most of the converted theaters I’ve been to. When back in Asheville I’ll definitely check to see what shows are there.
My goodness, I can't begin to say how much I love this place. It's my absolute favorite venue and I always love going to the area! P.S. seeing Halestorm here is my dream show!
This is a fantastic venue and, if I’m ever back in Asheville, I hope to see another show here. I’m from Nashville, which is covered up in top-notch music venues, and I found the Orange Peel to be comparable to some of Nashville’s similar-sized rock venues. We saw Belle & Sebastian, which was two hours late and then took another hour to actually come on stage, so the show didn’t even start until 10 pm and there was no opener band since Belle & Sebastian was so late. They started their tour in Asheville, and didn’t bother to fully prepare for their first show so they were still working through their own material. It felt more like a practice session. I have always liked them and was glad to get to see them, but it was quite annoying and disrespectful and, since it was a Tuesday night, we were just glad we were there on vacation and didn’t have to work the next day as many locals would have had to. Aside from that, the venue itself is badass and has excellent acoustics. I highly recommend seeing a show here.
I love going to see Shows here. I just moved back to Asheville NC . I lived in Chapel Hill and Durham NC . I saw a lot of shows there. DPAC, Carolina Theater, The Lincoln theatre, Cats Cradle, Local 506. I wish The Darkness would come play here.
Great place, the acoustics were phenomenal and felt very welcomed. No complaints aside from parking but nothing can be done regarding that. Will return.
The Orange peel is one of the more intimate venues I’ve been to. Relatively small, but great acoustics. Incredible ventilation, they had the best AC I’ve had at a metal show yet. Free water on the ends of the bar too.
Great venue and location. Kind of place where you come as you are to watch a show from your favorite band and drink from the large assortment of craft brews available at the bar. Currently boasting great Japanese street food as well available from Hashi Hana in the front of the arena which was fantastic. Grilled Cheese kimchi was out of this world! Location wise it’s pretty central from any location in Asheville being next door to Wicked Weed Brewing and easy to get to. Parking is more than likely the biggest obstacle but there are parking garages available just a short walk away. All in all this is a unique Option for music but on the smaller side but that is half its charm. This isn’t a stadium by any means where you feel packed to the brim like sardine but more of a cozy and intimate option to see your event of choice. Cheers!!
Give security a raise!!! There was a man being super rough next to a pregnant woman and security didn't see but as soon as I flagged them down they came and kicked him out with no questions asked!! Drinks were priced as expected and bathrooms were large enough to not wait. Would come again
