3 days after a DIFFERENT plumber wildly overcharged me to manually snake my clogged toilet, the toilet clogged up again, and the plumber's response was to point out that, too bad for me, he had never guaranteed the work. I found The Original 49.95 Plumber online. When I called them, they explained that this time the toilet would have to be lifted, and the drain line augered through the floor with an electric eel. The quoted price for the job seemed to me to be very fair, so we arranged for the work to go forward the next day. Peter arrived on time, removed the toilet, and immediately figured out that the obstruction was not in the drain, but in the toilet itself. He located and removed the obstruction, put down a new wax ring, reseated the toilet, and then, without any prompting from me, he discounted the previously agreed upon price because he had not had to use the electric eel after all. Then he gave me a 30-day guarantee on his work... Peter is clearly an experienced and competent plumber who charges very reasonable fees, and who demonstrates a species of honesty and respect for his customers that is, sadly, all too rarely encountered. We had a plumbing issue at home with a toilet overflowing and running. We called The Original $49.95 Plumber and they were able to come out that same day to snake and camera the line. Come to find out we had a broken pipe. They were very transparent in the diagnosis, scope of work and quote - final invoice matched the quoted repairs at all. Their crew left the jobsite clean, the workers were very friendly, professional and informative. I recommend their services to others and will use them in the future.

If you live in the greater New York area, The Original 49.95 Plumber is the company to use for any drainage issue. I buy and sell houses and own several properties at any given time. I've used several other sewer and drain cleaning companies in the past with an okay performance and very expensive price tag. A colleague from a business group referred me to The Original almost 2 years ago and I have been impressed with Peter and his company since then. They show up and get the job done at a very reasonable price. Once we had a drain that was extremely slow. After wrestling with a clean out plug that hadn't been open in decades, they got the job done. I like that they have everything from conventional snake machines and water jetting machines to high tech leak detection video inspection equipment to see exactly what is clogging the drains and better know how to fix it. Another time the basement bathroom sink and toilet backed up and just would't clear - even after the overnight soak with cleaner. There was some kind of problem with the sump pump. Peter and his team were able to drain the water from the basement and do the pipe replacement.

I was between 4 and 5 stars but ONLY went with the 4 because he is somewhat pricey. With that being said, I dialed this number accidentally/ I had used two other $49.95/.99 companies in the past and they weren't great. They tried, but temporary solutions. Anyway, when I called, I believe it's Peter< he came within a timely manner. Early in May with the big T storm, I had about 3 " of water in my basement. I Thought it needed to be snaked out but opted for the expensive hydrojetting I had never tried it and have been in the house 24 yrs. It seemed to work until I saw water from the drain in the back of the house the next storm. At first I thought I may have gotten ripped off. I called a few times and then Chino came back. He worked so super hard to see what the problem was. We practically worked together!! Finally, he pulled out at least 6 handfuls of leaves that all these other companies said it was clean. He said he wasn't leaving til the problem was solved. We have since had 3 big T storms and one last night. Truthfully, each time my stomach was in knots as I walked down to the basement. I must say, as of today, no flooding. I actually cried for joy this morning. As I said, it was far from $49.95 but they were some of the hardest workers I have seen . Thanks guys. Will definitely recommend.

Professional, courteous, and affordable. Not quite 49.95 but had a better price and did a better job than any other plumber I had previously called to snake a main line. Would recommend and will use again.
