I love The Original Pancakes House and while visiting Indianapolis went for breakfast. We were greeted and seated promptly by our very personable waitress. I noticed the entire staff worked as a team and each checking on all patrons for coffee refills or anything needed. Our food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious. It was about 1/3 capacity and customers well spaced out.
My husband and I went for breakfast and was seated the server didn’t even ask us if we wanted coffee or anything but went to the couple that came in after us, seated them and taken their orders my husband told him we were ready and he said okay wait a minute and went back to the couple that came in after us that’s when I went and informed him that’s not how you treat customers he never came back to take our order but sent someone came to take it, this was very rude and upsetting to me and I’m going to make sure something gets done about it. We don’t spend our money in a restaurant to be treated with so much disrespect because of the color of our skin it’s not right and bad for business. The server in the pictures is the one that was so rude he kept turning his back to keep me from getting a picture of his face.
Excellent breakfast choices! I especially enjoyed the baked lemon pancake. If you go there be sure to request Elizabeth! She taught me how to make my own lemon/butter/powdered sugar frosting for my lemon pancake. And, she even brought me a bowl of fresh whipped cream to top it off:- Awesome!!
I enjoyed eating breakfast Herr. The atmosphere is super cute. The Dutch baby pancake was thicker than I like. Tasted fine and still served with powdered sugar and a lemon wedge.Food: 4/5
I had not been to The Original Pancake House for a few years, but I was in on Saturday 11/5, around 1:30. The young lady at the door greeted me with a smile and my party was promptly seated. My server Juan was on point. He was so personable and attentive. I didn't have to ask for any refills because he anticipated my needs. I can't say enough about the food. I had the ham omelet with extras and the pancakes. Please, please, please, whoever was cooking that day, don't ever let them go. My food was sooo delicious and well seasoned, I tried not to embarass myself while wolfing down my food. Will definitely be back. Great experience! Parking: Great location with adequate parking.
Pancakes are slightly gooey in a good way. The side of potatoes are very good. Friendly service and clean. The bowl of fruit was very fresh, especially considering it's January in Indiana!Food: 5/5
The food was great as always. It's been a while since we had been, and it appears the economy is hitting them like every other restaurant. I would give 5-stars, but we had to wait 10 minutes for boxes and didn't receive out check until we started to walk away from the table.Food: 5/5
While on the northwest side of Indianapolis you have to stop for breakfast at The Original Pancake House! We were there before 7am and they had a lovely patio area for us to sit in. We ordered the Eggs Benedict, french toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and the Texas style fried potatoes. Absolutely everything was wonderfully delicious! Our server was very attentive despite the fact that it was early and we were sitting outside. He even brought us our own coffee carafe to stay warm at our table. For the people who say that the price is too high here, you get what you pay for. It's worth the price for an elegant meal and experience. The Hollandaise sauce is homemade perfectly. I was very impressed! We will definitely be back. I didn't get any pictures of the food because it disappeared very quickly but the interior and exterior shots can give you an idea of how beautiful it is.
This place was amazing! The service and food was awesome! The pancakes and french toast were the bomb! I’d definitely invite my family here again!
Server was nice! I did not care for this Andrew's apple pancake. I picked around a third of it to eat the apples and eventually asked for an order of buttermilk pancakes that were delicious except one was still doughy. I paid for all the food I ordered inspite of not liking the taste. While eating I over heard waitresses and the host discussing a matter stating if they didn't like it why would they eat it. Regardless it wasn't very professional. Also Happy Birthday Brunch to me.
