The Patriot Pub is the result of what all men wish for – your own bar. A few months back two guys became friends and talked about one day combining their talents to open a pub. That became reality in August when co-owners Brian and Shana opened the doors of The Patriot Pub, a neighborhood pub & grill serving not only the Hampton Roads community, but that of the armed forces as well. With Chef Damien’s assistance; from Chow Restaurant in Norfolk, Shana has been responsible for rolling out a first class, extremely affordable, menu that is unlike any other pub across the state. In less than two months The Patriot Pub was presented with the International Dining Club AWARD OF EXCELLENCE in recognition of the high standards The Patriot Pub has achieved. Brian, with his Military background, introduced the theme for the decor and created a “club house” appeal known to all those who go “down range”. Both Brian and Shana have lived, worked and served in Virginia Beach and know the surrounding and military community well. It was their goal to provide a place for all to come where they can in some small way provide an ownership environment in that this pub is there for the community.
The Patriot Pub – Gold Star Wall
The United States began observing Gold Star Mother’s Day on the last Sunday of September, in 1936. The Gold Star Wives was established before the end of WW II with Gold Star Spouses Day on April 5th. The Gold Star Lapel Button was established in August 1947. The Gold Star Wall at The Patriot Pub was established in 2016 in recognition of our fallen warriors and their sacrifices and those of their team mates and families.
Today, The Patriot Pub, and this great nation, recognize the sacrifices that all Gold Star Family members make when a father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, or loved one dies in service to the nation and we honor them and the Team Mates of those who gave all for us.
The strength of our military is our families and The Patriot Pub recognizes that no one has given more for this nation than the families and team mates of the fallen. We would be honored to have you place a picture of those “who gave all” on our Gold Star Wall. Buy your fallen warrior a beer and shot and The Patriot Pub staff will honor that Gold Star recipient with you. .
Come see us at The Patriot Pub. Pleasure House road is at the center of Chicks Beach and close enough to the Joint Expeditionary Base – Little Creek that we hear FIRST CALL at 0755 and COLORS at 0800. We are just a short ride down Shore Drive from Fort Story, a short distance more from Dam Neck, or straight run down Great Neck from Oceana. And for those coming in from NOB or Camp Lejeune - the ride is worth it!
Great food, Great staff, Great camaraderie and a place you can call your own.
