The Peanut Shoppe has been a Charleston tradition for over 60 years. The Peanut Shoppe was established in 1950 by Delbert Moore whom originally opened for Planters. It has remained in the Moore family and is still in its the original location.
The Peanut Shoppe was established in 1950 by Delbert Moore whom originally opened for Planters. It has remained in the Moore family and has continued to be located in it original location at 126 Capitol Street. It is one of the last remaining stores that were established in the mid 1900’s.
We cook all nuts daily for freshness. We also pop popcorn and prepare caramel popcorn on a daily basis. We have been told that the smell of the Peanut Shoppe will lure you in. We have also been told that we “have the best popcorn and nuts in town.”
