The Piggy Place

Visited as a canal visitor on a canal boat. Stopped at lunchtime for a few beers and a look at the farm shop. Been reading the neg reviews but we found all staff really nice. Spoke to the owner as well and found him very engaging. Clearly the usual half truth reviews and forced expectations resulted in verbal justification for the reviewers own misguided sake. A very poor form of communication to others. It’s an honest place with staff doing their best to make it work. Yes it’s quirky and a bit bohemian and sure, it’s not for everyone but just because you didn’t like it or it didn’t meet your perceived expectations doesn’t make it wrong. I personally loved the concept. If you go with no expectations you will leave happy. Judge the pig place on what it is, not what you think it should be.

Wonderful little site. There was an understandable restriction on bbqs and fires, and a request to bring your water. Did not detract from the excellent hospitality, lovely food and beautiful location. You could, if you were that way inclined, say that the noise of the motorway is a problem, but I do not find it an intrusion. I shall be coming back to this lovely little site.

Excellent site, basic facilities. But has outside eatery and bar. Fabulous farm shop with top quality produce. Settee's dotted around, with aome having g fire pits. All staff and owners extremely friendly. Would we re-visit?? ....... absolutely YES. Dog-friendliness: Only requirement is keep on lead and under control and clean up mess. Other than that, definitely made welcome
