The Public House

I really like the Public House though I can't comment on the alcohol element because I don't drink. What I do like is the vibe inside, the decor, the location and the food menu. I especially like their grilled cheese and macaroni and cheese options. They also have some salads - grilled Caesar for instance, that are pretty delicious. I've been here for a few going away luncheons for folks and have enjoyed some appetizers but I always get the grilled cheese of some kind or other with pimento cheese and other toppings. Really adults it up if you ask me.... haha.

Use to be one of my favorite places on Colley; absolutely legendary. However, in the last 6 months it has gone down a steady slope. The menu changed, the ingredients changed, and the most disappointing change: the famous Mac and Cheese... huge quality dip, noticeable lack of cheese :( This is still a cool place to eat, but its nothing compared to what it use to be. I'm sure its simply business as the owners focus more on Supper, another fantastic establishment, but I wish we could have the old Public House back :/

Really good food, beer selection is okay. Cocktails are great! Wish there was a little more consistency in how the drinks were prepped. I ordered the same thing twice and while I understand that everyone makes their drinks a little differently (former bartender) the two drinks I got were entirely different. I watched them make the drinks and they were made with the same ingredients but still different. I'm giving it 4 stars because one time we walked in, no one seated us so we sat ourselves at a table and we received no service for about 20 min and left. We did come back after that and will go again.

Bit pricey but not bad. Back room would be great if it weren't for the smoking / cigarette smell. The rest of the restaurant is smoke free I might add. Definitely worth a visit (3/5 is decently good, 4/5 great, 5/5 the best)

Awesome place with awesome service. It's got a home feel. Open for brunch lunch dinner and everything in between. Smoking/pool room in the back. It's a dope place. Lots of daily specials.
