I am really disappointed in the fact that I'm having to write such a low rating review for this business. For YEARS my husband has been trying to get me to come here, yesterday I was excited to go because I was recently inspired to "support my local fabric shop" and "be apart of my local quilting community". I've literally spent a few thousand at Joann's just in the last two months I'm not exaggerating and I find myself EVERYDAY inside Joann's isles looking at the same things buying and buying so I thought I should spend that money on high-quality fabrics and maybe just maybe I'll find a nice group of people I could talk to about quilting and fabric's. Heck maybe even attend some classes so I could be more apart of my community. I didn't even make it in the door! The doors were locked everyone inside the store just watched my husband and I try every door so we stood by the door closest to the class that was going on inside thinking someone would tell us they are either closed now or something, anything. I decided to give up and leave once I seen an older caucasian man walk up and just stand there with this judgey look on his face while we stood in the rain. That being said I went down the street back to Joann's where I get a 'hello' when I walk through the door, and bought more quilting supplies. Maybe I'll try the store again and update this review.
Really good selection of quality fabric and very friendly, enthusiastic workers.
They are always helpful, and I ended up buying more fabric than I planned on.
Great store. Beautiful fabrics. Customer service was great.
Great selection of quilting cottons. Friendly staff.
Fantastic quilt store. Lots to chose from. Team was extremely accommodating.
This is a really good quilt shop. Lots of unusual and interesting notions available here also. Friendly staff and lots of amazing fabrics. This is a long-time quilt shop and they know what they're doing.
I took a years long break from quilting, but recently joined a block swap group and have been on the hunt for nice quilting cottons. I hadn't been in Quilt Works since they moved and was blown away by the quantity and variety of fabric from companies that I love, the organization and clean look of the store, the friendliness of the staff, and all the beautiful samples on the walls. Having made the rounds of Albuquerque quilt shops lately, Quilt Works is currently at the top of my list. I will definitely be returning soon.
Anyone of any color that likes to sew or quilt, just avoid this place. Rude and treats you like you're going to steal from them. This is a one and never again shop. Only lady that was nice was a sweet lady with short grey hair in a purple jumpsuit. She was sweeter than pie. But the rest of those ladies are not nice.
Updating my review because I finally got around to looking closer at the fat quarters I bought. One of them was clearly dirty it felt greasy and had debris on it. None of them were the standard 18x22 or even the same size they ranged between 16-19x19-22. Selling goss used fabric is not okay. I guess I should have unfolded all of them and measured in the store. Instead of expecting a business to sell clean fabric. I will not be going back since it is quite obvious they do not care about the quality of their products. While this store has a great selection of patterns and colors. Tons of tools and lots of kits. There was some noticable side-eye when I walked in and they were noticably more polite/helpful to other customers. I am used to such with my casual dress and shaved head joann's is way worse but I will admit it was a bit saddening after hearing such high recommendations of this store.
