Small welcoming diner in an old train car. Breakfast foods with Home cooked comfort foods for lunch and dinner.
In the middle of the Red Barn Diner, with its curved ceiling, is the original 1920's Worcester, MA Dining Car, placed here in 1930. Since then many additions have surrounded it, many owners and different names have come and gone, but the friendly atmosphere, the great food, fair prices and bottomless coffee live on.
Recently known for many years as Shirley D's Diner, the current owners, Bob and Jean Barton, purchased the Diner from Shirley in 2007, and have been working hard ever since to restore the longer hours, provide more food choices, even better flavors, and continue the long tradition of Neighborhood Dining that has been serving the people of Manchester for over 82 years.
Although the old Dining Car is what the building is built around, we know it is really the many wonderful people that come daily, that are the true heart and soul of what makes the Red Barn Diner such a great place to eat, to meet friends and to work on solving many of the world's most difficult problems, over a cup of coffee and some real food.
Thank you all for your support! We look forward to seeing you each day, and serving you for many years. :)
