Great open space during summer days and very busy during the days! Nice place to have coffee and chitchat. However, it gets dirtier time to time as city usually doesn’t clean it frequently. Sometimes they have Mexican and cookie food trucks. Great time early morning and late evening time as you can see many birds and less crowd.
It really depends when you visit / go outside to take a break before catching a train. DO NOT go early am or after like 9pm . There are homeless people there, needles, trash everywhere. They sleep on the bunches, in the astroturf next ti flowers, and on swings . It's really disgusting first thing in morning this / pics are from 730 am on a Monday . Daytime they do clean it,and I guess move along the homeless so does look nice but I'd bring some sanitizer/ wipes to wipe things down. Overall as said it's nice besides the homeless destroying it .
Really great outdoor space while I was waiting for my train in the afternoon around 1pm! The Porch has swing seats, outlets and shaded/no shaded seating.
Great place to just chill and hang out, after a walk on the trail, or a jog through university city. Glad to see they made the most out of this space. These pictures include the views of the Philadelphia Skyline from 30th and Market, looking east.
If you have a 22-minute train layover like I do when I take the Pennsylvania 43 that runs from NYC to Pittsburgh, grab lunch from Pret and eat in the sunshine on a table at The Porch. It’s a pleasant space to get fresh air and take a break from your stuffy train car. There are flowers blooming, people chatting and swinging, and even an attendant spraying and wiping down tables. Rest for a minute - just keep an eye on your clock…
They killed it this year. The swings and beautiful flowers and shade are great. The entertainment has been good too. My only complaint is that the trucks are always crowded and they're never cheap ones.
Dream and relaxation to be had at this porch at 30th. Excellent retreat to recuperate after long hours of walk in West Philly. Ideal place to lounge, eat, relax, breathe in fresh air I certainly was delighted to put up my feet until my Megabus return trip. Fantastic ! Could'nt ask for more. Oh, so happy..
I despise nothing more than when someone closes before the hours posted. If your posted hours say 10am and I arrive a couple minutes before I shouldnt be turned away like I was this morning because the person decided to clean up and just stand inside. I literally rushed here to make sure I had something to eat and now I have nothing!!
First time there. Very neat and unexpected park right on Market St in front of 30 the St station. Rotating schedule of food trucks and entertainment. Well done!
I only come through here for work. They have cheap activities during the spring and meal trucks. Meal trucks are typically pricy.
