I’m not a sewer, nor am I into sewing…but one of my best friends is the owner and I’d like to say that she’s created a BEAUTIFUL space here in Wichita! It’s colorful, clean, and well-stocked! Her employees are friendly and knowledgeable. And they have a BICYCLE sewing machine ask them to show you how it works!!! Sew…please stop by and support this incredible little store. I’m so proud of what they’ve become!
I have a disability but decided to take the sewing class anyway. The instructor was kind & full of patients. The whole staff are helpful and always willing to lend a hand when you get stuck on a project. They helped me build my confidence back up and I'm back to sewing again thanks to the friendly caring staff of the Sewing Center!
This shop has a good variety of both apparel and quilting fabrics, as well as lots of laces and other notions. They also sometimes host local events like Stitch + Shop which helps support other local artists and businesses.
I am so happy The Sewing Center was saved and is being rejuvenated by the new owner! She has The Best selection of blenders from Blake, Kona and great Fabrics coming in each day. I quilt and sew clothing and I look forward to her adding quilt and clothing selections because she is going to keep fabrics up to date. Kaufman, Kaifeng, Tula etc. A nice store to hang out in, everyone is so helpful! Huge fan!!
Mrs. Beth Janssen, owner, was very gracious, helpful, and knowledgeable for my needs. Y'see I was looking for sturdy yet light fabric to build certain parts for samurai armor. Yes, you read that correctly... samurai armor. She went through several fabrics that could meet those criteria and gave me small samples of the fabrics, so I could bring back to my senpai senior student to decide which would be well-suited for our armor. We decided to go with the raw silk. I have tried other places that carried fabric, but they just didn't carry any raw silk. I highly recommend this down-to-earth, mum and pops store!
Lovely fabrics and many unexpected little finds like the ability to buy individual buttons. Prices are good and they have tons of notions. Well worth the drive across town.
I was looking for a particular embroidery stabilizer and was surprised at their stock including the one I needed, at a good price. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.

The staff were all cheerful, friendly and helpful. I stumbled upon this place and I fell in love with the variety of fabrics, lace, and buttons!! I plan on bringing in ny machine to be cleaned and oiled soon!
I love this store. The selection is fantastic, the staff very knowledgeable, and you likely will not find someone more knowledgeable about sewing machines. I believe Bev, the owner, is the no. 1 dealer in Kansas.
