Extremely expensive with terrible customer service. We have a shade that won’t go up without pulling on it several times in multiple directions for an $800+ piece. Asked for a replacement and they’re trying to charge hundreds of dollars just to check it. Just get a customer shade on Amazon from two pages, so much better!!!
Disappointing experience. First set of shades were delivered broken so we had to wait all over again. Second set of shades were finally delivered but with stains on multiple sections of the fabric, wrong length supposed to be 3 inches from top of ceiling, and no blackout liner when we purchased and ordered it. On top of that, the hardware is not even remotely hidden. Overall a scam for the price paid. Stay away as they clearly have severe production issues.
Horrible experience. Multiple remeasures had to be done. First order came with a wrong print and overall horrible look. Company apologized and offered to remake using a different fabric and style. I accepted remake and used renderings they made to pick a different print/style. Well, second time the style was wrong, the rendering color didn’t match the fabric. I demanded refund - company refused to issue. They offered a re-make #3 for which they are trying to change me now again. What a scam!
First cancelled multiple appointments for installation while leaving gigantic wrong size curtain rods in our hallway for MONTHS and refusing to pick them up. Then curtains were finally installed but were crushed and wrinkled - refused to address this at the time of the installation but scheduled an appointment to come a different day - and they did not show up for this.
Partway through my experience and disappointed. Some of my drapes should have been installed ages ago but first they didn’t take the right measurements, then producing and shipping took way longer than they told me when I bought them. Then they canceled my appointment day of and are making me wait 3 weeks for another one. Meanwhile I have to live with these massive packages in my main living space waiting for installation. Truly an awful experience. 2 stars because the shades they have installed look good so far - besides them placing the control in the wrong side of the window in 2 cases.
February 7, 2023 The Shade Store products are superior both in design and workmanship. However, it takes a dedicated and astute representative to assist the customer in determining the right design and fabric for a home. Dan Ambrose, Shade store representative at the Boston Design Center, has been working with my husband and me for the past couple of years to create just the right look in both our Boston apartment and our CT home. One by one, I am replacing every window treatment and I’m enjoying each moment. It takes me time to weigh the options for fabrics and styles but each piece that I purchase adds a positive impact on my homes. Dan has been patient and relentless in assisting me to make sure that all my shades and drapes are done perfectly. He has a lot of unique ideas for designing window treatments and his advice has always enabled me to make the right decisions. Plus, it’s fun “working on windows” with Dan. Dan is our “go-to” guy and he makes it pleasurable to spend money!
Very mixed experience. I went with the luxury option and had six roman with an electronic raising/lowering system with professional installation. So far 5/6 work great. However, within 6 months it became clear that one of the shades clearly wasn't working properly. Given the lifetime warranty, I reached out for support. They didn't respond after multiple attempts to get in touch. After several followups they responded and sent someone to come and fix the shade. After the repair it worked for about 2 weeks, then the same issue came back. No response to my first request for a repair, so now I'm again sending a followup to try to get someone to help fix the shade...
I had been frustrated finding the right shade for our project and when I found Dan at the Shade Store, I knew right away that I found what we were looking for! From the very beginning the experience was the ultimate in professionalism. Service, product, communications, installation, all were top notch, and in today's environment that is not easy to find! I’ve worked with Marcelo at Shade Store twice and highly recommend. From start to finish — window measurements, picking fabrics, styles, ordering — the experience is top notch. Prices are reasonable as well and the customer service is excellent. 10/10 would go back
A terrible experience that is still not over. Very difficult to get in touch with - took me multiple days after speaking with the design consultants to get a quote that they said they’d send me “in a couple minutes”. The installation was crooked and was told they needed to come out and remeasure. Then they disappeared yet again. Spoke with customer care multiple times who assured me someone would call me “today” and then again disappeared. My crooked shades still haven’t been fixed and it’s been over a month. Truly a nightmare experience for how expensive these shades are.
