The Strathmore

Horrible elevator service. Only 3 elevators to start with, for 40 floors. 1 is always being repaired and 1 is used for moving. So only 1 in use all the time, and with 40 floors of very large dogs, strollers, deliveries, people going to the gym, tenants can't get in and out of the building in any decent time. It's a shame, because the building and the staff are nice. But it is unworkable if you can't get in and out of your apartment. And they keep taking more and more tenants and not telling them about the elevator problems or offering any relief on rent.

Luxury apartments. This building looks like a wonderful place to live-- that consistently generates huge, stinking mountains of garbage on 83rd street that sit uncollected for up to a week at a time nearly obstructing the sidewalk and attracting rats that have been driven above ground from the nearby subway construction.
