So sad to see the state of this restaurant. Before the pandemic, my family would frequent The Tamale Guy and it was so pleasant. Now it’s just depressing. They never have anything in stock and there’s nowhere to sit, only one small table for two people. Where they used to have tables and a tv that played music, they have freezers. With all those freezers out in what used to be the seating area you would think they would have enough ingredients but they’re always running out of something. Today they didn’t have beans so we got two scopes of rice, if you dine in your meal doesn’t come on a plate anymore it comes in a to-go container. We noticed they changed the rice, they used to use jasmine rice which was very flavorful but now they have bland white rice. Really my money probably would have been better spent somewhere else, like Patty’s. The tamale I had was good but my husband’s was burnt. Seen complaints about this happening several times before. Not the most comfortable place to be in but if you’re ordering to go and only tamales should be fine unless they run out of those too.
They used to be amazing!! Their vegan tamales were so delicious! Now it seems that they are never open anymore. We’ve called several times over the past couple months during business hours and the phone goes unanswered. Also stopped by several times and the door sign says closed and the lobby looks a mess. Thinking they may be permanently closed…or at least they soon will be if they keep on this path. Guess it’s time to find a new tamale supplier
Little taste of home for me. I've never mastered making tamales so I come here to get my fix. During holidays heads up, order ahead as they usually sell out. They are open all year and have a small menu to order from besides tamales. Worth the trip!!Food: 5/5
Terrible service. Received the wrong order. If you are Hispanic and know what good tamale is, then you find this is not the place for a good tamale. Sweet corn tamale was terrible. Pork tamales have NO CHILE, not red or green. So disappointed!!!! I will drive to ELA to ensure I get a good tamale!!!
Delicious tamales! I've tried every flavor and they are all amazing. They even have vegetarian and soy options. The watermelon agua fresca was fantastic. I took a dozen tamales home to heat up later. Love this place.
Visited and picked up a 12 pack with half vegetarian and half meat tamales. Brought the 12 pack of tamales to work and it was a hit! My team loved the spiciness of the red bean and jalapeno, the savory goodness of the soy chorizo, and the meat tamales were amazing! Will be back to get more and also to try out the champurrado

Came here for their Vegan Tamales. They are good
I ordered over the phone . When I arrived my order was ready ,kept in a warmer for freshness. Check out process wasn't a hassle .I prefer the potato and veg vegan tamale over the soy chorizo Vegetarian options: Has a couple of vegan tamales with new vegan items on the way. Parking: Parking lot is not well structured Wheelchair accessibility: I believe accessibility is easily found here for wheelchair bound people or injuries
My go-to spot for vegetarian and vegan tamales! They're ready-made and you can walk out with fresh tamales right away. I visited today 12/9 and even though it's a super busy tamale season they still had plenty of options for take out. They're good tamales with plenty of filling. $13 for a half dozen. Their vegan options include red beans & jalapenos, potato & veggies, soyrizo, and nopales. I eat cheese but usually opt for the vegan tamales over chile and cheese, because the vegan tamales are so flavorful!
