The Ultimate Barber

I cannot recommend Kirk and Ultimate Barber enough. Been going here for years and I NEVER walked out with even a mediocre haircut. Always fire. Always got compliments. Always unwavering quality and cool people. All for an incredibly reasonable prices. Make this place your barber and you won’t regret it.

This was my first experience with a VA barber shop, since I just moved from NJ. At first I was extremely nervous because before I moved I noticed VA had a huge lack of old school barbershops that weren't chains. People from VA know what I mean, no old school barbershops but I finally found one. After a lot of research and reading reviews I come across this shop and a gentlemen name John, I decided to give it a try. I came in and was greeted right away. Got right into the haircut and instantly knew I was going to be okay. After the haircut was finished, I have now found a new shop. The fade was perfect, my beard was lined up, and conversation was great. If you need a barber give this place a try and ask for John.Services: Beard trim

There's a lot of good things to say about this place but I'll narrow it down for you for people with social anxiety like myself I like going to places that doesn't have a lot of people. but they're extremely good and get u in and getting u out looking your bests. I also love the atmosphere of the place to. Only downside is it kind of expensive but it worth it in the end.

I'm not sure if my barber, John H., was simply tired or being negligent that day but this is one of the worst haircuts I have gotten in my life. Since this place had great reviews, I assumed all of the barbers would be great. I am sure that John is talented too but this type of negligence and inconsistency is what makes a great barbershop a regular one. I will definitely not be going back. In response to the owner: Negligent and inconsistent of the haircut as you can see from the photo. This is not a phony review, I obviously want to remain anonymous. I'm not stating that the barbers nor the barbershop is terrible, I am simply describing my experience. Instead of discrediting the negative reviews, I suggest learning from the feedback to improve the overall quality of your barbershop.

The haircut wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I recently moved to the area and had a great barber back where I was. He talked to me, asked me questions as he went along, and made the effort to connect with me and his community. He and the other barbers made people feel welcome. At Ultimate Barber the barber I had barely said a word to me. The barber next to me barely said a word either. I was an appointment on a schedule. It wasn't a bad cut, but I am sure I can find a different barber shop with a different vibe.

Kirk was very helpful and made sure to explain to me and my son what he was going to do and how to maintain my son's natural waves. I thank Kirk for his kindness and professionalism. We will be regulars.

Visited Dominick @ the Ultimate Barber on lunch break today. First off, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the shop. Always important to maintain a clean spot! Second, was greeted respectfully and had to wait maybe 5 mins. Lastly, my guy Dominick lined me up with a fresh fade. Was complimented literally walking out the door. 10/10 recommend and will be back. Online booking service very convenient as well.

There online booking service isn’t reliable. I made an appointment for 3:30pm and when I showed up the lady at the front desk said I had no appointment. 5 other people were waiting there as well because the same happened to them. No chairs opened up for anyone because all of the folks who called in to make appointments walked right in front of us as if we didn’t make appointments at all. Waited an hour then left. Seems like a nice place other than that. The owner just replied to my comment claiming that the online system is working fine. Sir you apparently aren’t communicating with your staff and locations because I just left this shop at 4:30pm today July 14, 2018. How about you contact your staff first before making false accusations online. The young girl at your front desk literally told me she had no idea why the online appointment system wasn’t working for anyone as soon as I walked in. You need to talk to her and get your story straight.

It's wasn't what I expected. The place is modern and receptionist very friendly. However, I booked early morning and had to wait an hour because a customer before me was late. No huge deal but several walk-ins were taken before me by other barbers. I suppose you have to use the specific barber you pick on the online appointment. Be sure that's the one you want. My barber was pretty seasoned but really uncomfortable experience. There was a young man before me who was coughing all over the apron and the barber used the same one for me. The haircut hurt. I don't have much hair but the clippers really snagged at every cut. I took it like a champ but was not a pleasant experience. Other barbers finished about 7 different clients to his 2. So if you have the time and pain tolerance, you're all good. My lining was ok too. Great place just know which barber to go to. I recommend walk-ins to feel the barbers out 1st before you sit in that chair. I hope this helps.
