Story

The Up & Up is a craft cocktail bar in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. Follow the illuminated arrow pointing down the stairs leading from MacDougal Street into a historic space, once home to the Gaslight Cafe, the birthplace of the Beat Generation and venue for some of the most storied musical acts. Here, nestled among the William Morris wallpaper, marble, brass, and wood, you will find a new kind of neighborhood cocktail bar. One where hospitality and skill work in concert. Guided by the mantra, high-end, low-key, the Up & Up is the perfect neighborhood cocktail den.

Great place for cocktails and small bites, completely different vibe speakeasy-ish than the street above. We had a reservation and at the door they checked our ID and vaccine proof. My fave cocktail was 'stay gold'. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit, but at $18 a drink, you can find plenty similar cocktail places in NYC.
The drinks are on point with great service. We also tried that cheese puffs which served as great side snack. Love the speakeasy vibe and dim lights. Ideal for date night.
