Stayed there for the Memorial Day weekend with a large group of Tampa Rough Rider friends. A couple of ice machines were not working, but in the over all the place was very nice. Big bathrooms, a nice shower in my Room. The place has plenty of personality and Room for conversation and relaxing.
We recently completed our fourth annual group trip to DC during which we stayed at the Uptown House. It has become a tradition that we look forward to, and our recent program alumni have fun talking with the students on the trip about their experiences in the same space. The house is perfect for large groups -- plenty of sleeping space, large kitchen, beautiful back yard/porch/gazebo. There is a metro bus stop right across the street from the house, so public transportation is very easy to navigate. Safeway can deliver groceries to the house, too. The owner, Sandy, is absolutely amazing. I can't say enough good things about her or the house. A few of our alumni have asked for Sandy's contact information for other groups with which they are connected. It truly is a gem of a find!
This was first time staying in a house environment and I gotta say, it pretty good.the house itself is dated but furniture and appliances worked well and were modern.Parking is limited and WiFi is slow.
Impressive house, the building itself is nice although not the most practical, but there are a lot of little things that could easily be fixed to improve the experience.
Lavishly decorated in Fair priced. Great place to stay
