Story

The Weekend Spot Restaurant is a family owned and operated restaurant serving Authentic Ricosoul Cuisine. Ricosoul is a concept born to fuse Southern and Puerto Rican homestyle cooking served on the weekend. We serve a variety of tasty traditional dishes such as Macaroni & Cheese and Collard Greens to Empanadas and Maduros. We pride ourselves in offering a family oriented atmosphere, high ingredients and healthy meals.

We are committed to quality, service, and excellence. We take tremendous pride in serving the highest quality ingredients, providing exceptional customer services, and our commitment to excellence. Our goal is to consistently surpass the expectation of our customers by cooking finger popping, lip smacking good food.

In addition to our Weekend Restaurant, we are full service off premise caterers offering a wide variety of menu items provided to fit a variety of event styles and budgets. The Weekend spot catered my daughter’s Sweet 16 party and the food was wonderful. My guest enjoyed the food and wanted to take some home with them. Not only the food is delicious Chef Mo the owner is a wonderful person! Chef Mo is easy to talk and makes sure you are happy with your experience.
Hands down the best take-out food I’ve had in very long time. Tried this place based on the description and high reviews and was not disappointed with anything. Jerk salmon collard greens and baked Mac&Cheese was mouth watering, lip smacking, and foot tapping for real!!! Definitely adding as my top dine out restaurant!
They gained a new customer! The food was delicious! I had fried chicken, mac and cheese and yams! The restaurant is clean and the customer service is incredible. They are very welcoming and polite. I was pleased with my food and the service.
This is my first review I think I’m writing for a restaurant. I was scared to order the wings because at a lot of places the wings are so small. The wings here were AMAZING. 10/10. I didn’t expect them to be the size they were I didn’t even finish my dinner and had left overs. Taste was amazing as well. For the price of the wings I was extremely amazed
I was near the area and wanted to give this place a try. I ordered online the southern baked chicken, collard and cabbage mix and yellow rice and it said about 30 to 40 minutes and it came to $14.66. I arrived at the restaurant about 20 minutes later and walked in and a few people were waiting. The nice young man Jay said it wasn't ready. As I waiting the line got longer and longer. I waited about 40 more minutes for my food. The wait was ridiculous and the communication was terrible. Yes the server was very nice but that wait will keep me from returning. When it was done I grabbed my food and uptown and left. As I drove home I drank some of the uptown and it was ok. When I got home and ate the baked chicken was good and so was the yellow rice. The collard greens and cabbage was a bit salty. All in all I only had an ok experience.
We waited 2 hours for our food and we traveled all the way from Albany ny. That's was totally unexceptable and some of the food we ordered and paid for was not in our bag. The food was tasty.Food: 4/5
Been a ‘weekender’ for several years now and Chef Mo never disappoints. Look no further for classic soul dishes made from top quality ingredients. My personal favorites are the crab cakes, ox tail, fried chicken/wings, and fried seafood. Corn bread soufflé is amazing but not always available. They are on some of the food delivery apps but are not always active. Always best to call in your order. Like the menu says, NOT a fast food restaurant, but that’s kinda the point. Catering services are also fantastic and very reasonably priced.
Ordered Shrimp Scampi over Angel hair pasta, with side salad. Homemade Cannoli for dessert. Food was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Professional courteous service. Will definately be back.
This place looked great online, then you get there. The menu looks good but the online photos? Some other restaurant entirely. This place is takeout only with no dining room whatsoever. Quite a disappointment
I appreciate the details put into the food here. They don’t serve any pork and I am happy they use quality containers for take out! Courtney takes care of you at the front and the owner ensures your food is done right. I’m loyal!
