I have been a nurse at the Wellington for 2 years on the memory care unit. These residents and their families are part of my family. We have built a community that strives to enrich the lives of our residents and their families. We smile and laugh alot! I have been a nurse for 33 years and never have I felt happier about coming to work.
I’ve been serving this facility as a volunteer chaplain and hospice chaplain For over four years. The facility is always beautiful, clean, and inviting. The staff is caring, compassionate, and loving toward the residents. The residents are happy, busy, and enjoy their lives. This facility illustrates the truth that life in old age does not have to be sad or boring. The residents have meaningful activities, extensive community, and a positive environment.
I have been the receptionist here for almost a year now and i absolutely love it. The staff are very professional, and very understanding. The residents are very sweet. When i come in the building everyone in here makes me feel like i belong and that i am appreciated
I have loved working at the Wellington. I have had so much room to grow here over the past year. The residents at The Wellington are all such welcoming people. This community is a very clean well kept place.
Great place to work! You can tell the staff really care for the residents in the community. It doesn't feel like another day at work. Really enjoy talking to the residents.
Needless to say, this is not going to be a good review. My family has been looking for another place for our mother to live. A couple of months ago we heard about The Wellington at Southport. We were so excited to hear that residents would have their own rooms. Our mother currently, like other facilities, share's a room. My sister visited The Wellington and was given a tour. I believe she and a staff member spent almost two 2 hours together. She filled out some paper work and told the director she would like for her me to visit and then we would make a decision. I visited a couple of days later. I was given a brief tour and I, too, liked what I saw. The director ask me to have my mothers records faxed from current place she was living. Papers were faxed the next day. Now, moving forward a bit. I never received a call back from the director. I tried and left three 3 messages. Nothing. So, this week on Monday, August 28, 2017, I phoned again. I expressed my concern that I had not been called back. I was then transferred to the Admissions person. He said he had only been there three 3 weeks. So, I told him what was going on and he took my name and my mothers and said he would get back to me. Hmm, heard that one before. I called on Thursday and left a message. He was giving a tour. I called later that evening, he was in a meeting. It is now Friday, September 1st. I called again, the receptionist said she can now spell my name without asking. Not a good thing. This time he wasn't answering his phone. I said "you know, I don't understand, no one wants to call me back. I tried three 3 times with Director, nothing. I have now been trying with Admissions and nothing. I am beginning to take this personal". She put me on hold, I was then told that he was in a residents room and you can't hear the all call in the rooms. That is scary. I then said "I will try again and if no one calls me back, I will call the Corporate office to ask why". Within 15 minutes, I received a call from the Director. She informed me that my family member had been called three 3 days after her visiting the facility and told our mother had not qualified and the reason no one called me back was because they assumed the family member would inform the rest of the family. I'm sorry, this is not true. If so, why wasn't I told that way back when. This has been a very unprofessional communication process with The Director and Department. There are so many things I wished I would have said and ask her now that our call is over. I have to question how they operate on a daily basis. Glad we are not moving to The Wellington of Southport.
Absolutely love working here!! Best job I have ever had hands down!! Staff and residents are the best!! Very family oriented and friendly atmosphere!!
Big changes at The Wellingon at Southport have made a huge difference. There is an all new Management team and the change in the building is palpable. The new Executive Director is making lots of positive changes. This is a great place!
Makes you wonder why they have to have all their staff write 5 star reviews to boost their rating.
Its a really nice place. The staff are friendly and helpful. The residents are great. It has that warm home feeling.
