Biggest fried scallop I ever had! They were sweet and succulent! I would try the seafood platter next time. Outdoor sitting was nice - perfect view to the shore. We got there around 6pm and had plenty of tables. But by the time we left around 7, it was packed.
Whole belly clams!!! My favorite! We were excessive but wanted a little of everything. Least v favorite was the crab cake, can get much better at other restaurants in the boston area. Still it was very crab filled!
Following the advise of my friends who have recommended to visit Tonys Clam Shop, which has the best seafood in town. I had ordered the lobster roll and a lemonade. Their lobster roll by far was the best that I had tried.
I'm not gonna tell you that the food here is not good. The food here is excellent. However, tonight we got there at 8:30 and was told that we can order but we have to take our food to go. I asked if closing time was 9pm and he said it is but tonight it's around 8:30. I get it, they wanted to clean up and go home. I told him that we would eat real fast and leave. He said no. I said so you want me to spend 300 dollars and eat my food out in the cold. I asked if we could eat out on the deck and he said he was going to turn the lights off. We got our food and ate it outside while we watched other ppl come in and buy food until 9 pm. They never closed at 8:30m like they said but they just didn't want you to use their tables. IF you don't want ppl to eat at your place, then lock the doors and say that you're closed. Tony, if you're closed, then lock the doors. If the doors are open, sell us food and let us eat it and get out before closing time. We drove from Soutborough.
The best fried clams hands down!!! I’m a travel nurse and have worked in Maine Vermont New Hampshirite Boston and I have never had clams so big and juice!!!!! And the employees are so sweet and kind. Nothing like an after work mixed drink with some clams and sea Scollops! Worth every dollar. Wish I could take back a Tonys clams T-shirt back to NJ where I’m from!!! I will check before I head home in July!!! I will be eating here all summer!!
I decided to change my initial rating from 5 to 3 stars. My first two orders in June were high quality 1 fried lobster and 2 seafood plate. Two separate orders on different dates. They were very fresh, but of course they had a high price. That said, I didn't care about the price. I focused on the quality and professionalism of the staff. So my initial 5-star rating was based on the quality, consistency and greeting of the staff when I came in to collect my order, and efficiency in the verification/checkout. However, today's the girl clearly ruined my phone order of seafood plate. I asked to replace calamari in my seafood plate with extra clams. That didn't happen, after I checked the order when I got home. Also, the taste of my of fried seafood unlike the first time was like a burnt oil. In addition, they did not include tartar sauce that should be added automatically in the order of seafood plate. The girl at the register was a little rude, too. Consistency is key and they have to keep this value to keep customers happy.
Typical touristy fried seafood place on a beach. After trying The Clam Box next doors, I wanted to compare fried clams between the two. Ordered small fried clams and fried oysters, and they were both okay. Clams here definitely had better texture but less seafood flavor than the other, but overall, I enjoyed the ones here more despite the hefty price tag. Fried oysters also lacked flavors and I couldn’t exactly tell if I was eating oysters, but it went nicely with the tartare sauce nonetheless.
Excellent quality seafood without much pretentiousness or fluff; they really let the shellfish speak for itself. Service was good and the atmosphere was top notch. Maybe a bit on the pricy end, but worth if for a table with a bay view.
This place is awesome. I used to be an Clam Box diehard. But tonight we tried Tony and this is my NEW to go place. We got whole clams, steamers, scallops plates and they where perfect. Even the burger was great. We will be back sooner than later.
Yummy! I had the Chicken Kabobs with Greek Salad and Pita Bread with a small side of Rice Pilaf. And he had the Medium Order of Whole Fried Clams - the big bellies! And I had a Non-alcoholic Frozen Raspberry Margarita!!!! Delicious!
