He provided specific instructions, modeling, guided practice, and a manual, all of which led to our dogs being well trained and well behaved. My dog Lincoln went through the foundations program and the free dog curriculum. Lincoln’s training program was tailored specifically for him based on his personality and the behaviors he was exhibiting. Even more importantly, John taught ME how to work with him to encourage the behaviors I want and discourage those I don’t. He explained everything from Lincoln’s point of view to help me understand why he behaved the way he did and how he would interpret my response to his behavior. The free dog program has enabled me to take Lincoln with me anywhere dogs are allowed. We do a lot of hiking. He enjoys the freedom of exploring off leash and I have peace of mind knowing he will come to me when I call him. I highly recommend John and Top Dog Training!

We hired John to specifically solve the problem of our young dog play biting and play bowing. He helped improve his obedience, but did not solve the main issue. We had to hire another training group to solve this issue. Also, we called him some months later to inquire about a shock collar. He said he would send us some videos and he never did.

John is professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and the best decision our family made when it came to working through our dog’s behavioral problems.
