Our wedding reception at Top of the Town was the best night of our lives! The view is absolutely stunning and the transition from afternoon to dusk to evening light meant that the vibe was always becoming beautiful in new ways. The room looked so elegant especially after dark, and our attendees - especially those from outside the area who don't see the National Mall on a regular basis - wouldn't stop raving about the setting. We loved the venue's expansive approved caterer list, which allowed us to use a culturally appropriate food provider for our event. And the team was flexible and accommodating with us, with a slight additional deposit, when we had a creative approach to our music for the night outside of their relatively short approved DJ list. This is a very professional team and as such you can expect high standards, plenty of paperwork, and a few extra rules here and there. Entry/exit times were firmly enforced, and you'll be sent a list of no-play songs which have created too much stomping noise for downstairs neighbors in the past. But the litigiousness in preparation softened by the day of the event, the day-of staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and you can tell that the high standards and expectations are all in service of having an excellent event. It's by no means a bargain option, but we found it to be high value for money for the area, especially by throwing our event on a Friday evening rather than all day Saturday. For our guest list of ~110 attendees, the indoor venue offered plenty of space for mingling, dinner, and dancing. The outdoor patio cannot accommodate that many for a ceremony, FYI; if you want a ceremony on the patio you'll be capped at ~80 who can be seated out there. Sharing all these details in case they're helpful to a future couple. We definitely feel that we made the right pick in Top of the Town, and provided our families and friends a forever memorable experience looking over the city from above. Thanks to the TOTT team!!
I attended the Black Republican Trailblazer Awards ceremony given by the Republican National Conference. The reception hall was beautiful with the best view I have ever seen of Washington, D.C. Your staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Thank you!
One of the best venues in the country. Amazing view, wonderful managing partners that make it an enjoyable and easy booking process. Location is superb and away from the main hustle and bustle.
The view of dc is nice but the event space is small. Primarily used for receptions and weddings. Rental venue with a "wow" view starting from the elevator up to walking through the hall and then to the venue area itself. Great for small weddings/reception, dinner parties. Have an outdoor patio great for pictures and can set up a bar.
Writing this review on behalf of my sister, the bride. The view is without question the highlight, but the decor is outdated and they charge for every small thing- really nickel and dime you. The elevator doesn't have AC and it is a long ride up to the penthouse and guests were sweltering! During a walk through, my sister witnessed the sales manager, Kate, having a heated conversation about a caterer and it rubbed her the wrong way. She also thought the guy who worked the event that night was rude. They have free parking which is a plus but it wasn't enough to convince me to book my upcoming wedding after my sister's experience dealing with the sales manager. I've decided to go elsewhere.
Beautiful view and venue.
What a nice view. No official point! It's an office floor. No professional Cameras allowed. There are a realy friendly woman. Thanks that I could take some nice pictures.
I have officiated many ceremony's at Top of the town, the staff is wonderful to work with and it is so lovely to look over Dc great place to get married!
Top Of The Town was the venue we chose for our daughter’s reception on July 2, 2022. It is located across the Potomac river, lined up with the US Capitol, Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. The view of the monuments is phenomenal, you have to see it to believe it. Our guests were totally wowed. Besides the view, the staff are thoroughly professional, flexible and accommodating. Both Laura and Vivian put us at ease during our initial planning, accommodating our multiple visits to plan out the decorations. Vivian patiently answered our nonstop questions, giving helpful pointers for hosting the event. Vivian made the planning totally stress-free. The event itself went off without a hitch, with Jasmine even helping us with cleaning up. I would unreservedly recommend Top of the Town for anyone looking to host a party at a venue with a magnificent view of the Washington monuments.
Literally THE best view of DC monuments - Lincoln Memorial Washington Monument, Iwo Gima, Jefferson, etc.
