For the longest time we have wanted to try the Trumpo tacos place in Pasadena as we have heard good things from friends about it. Finally this weekend it became a reality. We piled into our vehicle and headed to go try these tacos. We even invited friends who had earlier been here to meet us there. The restaurant is simple and the invitation is the big hunk of meats on the outside. We got our drinks and then began the decision of what to get. The Trumpo was a no brainer. We also go with some beef fajita, Tripe and some trumpo with avocado and cheese. That was all we came here to get. The drinks were good. I got the Jamaica Hibiscus which was not too sweet and had a different taste. The trumpo was definitely the star of the evening. The plain shaved meatPork was perfect and though I did add the green sauce and lime it was just simple goodness which really does not need any help. The tacos are small but don’t let that fool you, you will be full soon. The other tacos with the cheese and avocado did not add much to the flavor but if you wanted to get more bang for your buck you would get that. Definitely a must-try place.
Taqueria El Maizal 2 offers tasty tacos, but quality may vary between day and night. Evening visits provide amazing, authentic Mexican flavors, while daytime experiences seem less authentic, possibly due to leftover ingredients.Food: 4/5
If you're looking for real authentic Mexican food, look no further, they have it all here. From the drinks to the food everything here is amazing.Food: 5/5
Feels hot, probably more so inside than outside due to the outdated AC ducts. Food is another story, tasty and filling. Service is extremely good, great attention to detail and quick to helpFood: 5/5
Best tacos I've had in a long time Food was fresh, hot and with lots of flavor TACOS MATAMOROS 10/10Food: 5/5
Went to eat here for lunch and service was fast and friendly. The tortillas are super delicious taste just like in Mexico. The salsa are good. The tacos de trompo are really good. Can’t go wrong with picking this place to eat.Food: 5/5
$10 for 5 tacos. Trompo tacos are meaty and full of flavor. Tender meat surrounded by crispy edges. It's like a pork version of brisket. These tacos remind me of a famous taco place in Puerto Vallarta. The sauces are thick and spicy. Comes with grilled onions. Service was quick.
By far the BEST Birria tacos EVER! It was our first time trying this place LMAO and after the first order, we got another order! It's so damn gooooood! Homemade tortillas and you can smell the corn the second you walk in.Food: 5/5
The food was ok, the trompo is cooked outside. I tried the charro beans just not into them no flavor and had pieces of weenie. I ordered French fries, and they were great, along with a Joya de Manzana. I will try it again sometime in the future. I tried it out for the second time. Service was awful, our waitress took our order although she kept forgetting my drink it finally came 20 minutes after arriving. My partners order finally came about 30 minutes later, as patrons arrived. They took their orders their drinks and food arrived. I'm like, where is my food by this time an hour has come and gone. I finally go to the cashier and just say forget my order. My partner had finished his food, so now our waitress comes to me and says the cook just forgot your order. I can't understand. It wasn't the kitchen personnel who forgot it was the waitress she was so all over the place she only heard one person's order, not mine. Food might have been good if both our orders had arrived, but the experience was awful, and I left hungry.
This is my new go to spot. Fell in love with the food. It's authentic as it comes. Really good trompo & tripa tacos. Definitely a spot to give a try.
