I didn’t realize we were meeting at the actual apartment for our keys, but after realizing that I had a great experience moving in! Annie was super sweet and the apartment looks amazing! So far a really great impression. Application and everything went seamlessly as well. Great communication and help from the management team.
The management team here is just amazing! We worked with Annie through the whole process of getting our apartment, and she has been amazing throughout the entire process and even after moving in! The apartments look great and we love that are still updating everything!! The communication with management has been stellar as well!
Resident for just over 3 yrs. Positives: - Annie is polite and helpful. - Location is close to a park, several grocery stores, village shops. - No paid street parking. - New current management/owner is at least better then previous owner/manager combo. Certain things that were broken for years under previous owner were finally fixed. Negatives: - Cost/Value. No amenities to justify $1150+ cost for a 1 bdr apartment and no, kitchen appliances, closets, and cabinets are NOT amenities. - General building state. Yes hallway carpets were replaced, but frequent mold and trash issues in the basement storage areas, locks on exterior doors frequently breaking, walls had 0 insulation so temperatures varied wildly. - Safety questions. When renovating empty units, workers commonly left rusty nails, pieces of metal and sharp plastic laying around inside and out. Also minimal lighting outside buildings or in parking areas. Not terrible places, but not really worth listed price given the state and age of units/buildings, and general lack of amenities.
The management team that I started my lease with is not the same. They are much better. They immediately started doing structural and aesthetic repairs and now have weekly housekeeping for the buildings. It definitely justifies the slight rent increase vs the previous one that I was actually told by the most recent ex manager that it was due to others not paying their rent during COVID. The new management is definitely handling the needed repairs and are responsive about concerns within a reasonable time period.
Just moved here. Leasing office staff and maintenance staff are incredibly nice and helpful. Apartments are really really nice and spacious and located very conveniently close to pretty much all the major amenities that one would want. Grocery stores, parks, oak leaf trail, all within walking distance. The area seems super safe too.
These apartments are poorly maintained and the owner is incredibly dishonest. I lived here for 6 years prior to buying a house. I also cleaned vacant apartments for the owner and manager while I was in school. I often heard the owner say "renters don't have rights" as an excuse as to not preform requested maintenance work or purchase working laundry machines which work sporadically but never really clean your clothes. When I first moved in I asked if I could move in at 10am rather than noon. The the apartment was unpainted and uncleaned the floors weren't even vacuumed and the main bathroom had a leak coming from the ceiling with black mold looking stuff around it. It took maintenance 2 months to fix the bathroom, we were told it was because we moved in 2 hours early. When we put an offer on our house I verbally told the manager 90 days out then put in a written notice 30 days out with the rent check. The owner stated he never received a written notice though somehow received the check? and we would have to pay through august. He then agreed to only have us pay through july but we would have to leave by the second week and we wouldn't get our security deposit. The owner is as shady and money grabbing as they come. If anyone writes reviews stating otherwise they are friends of the owner and he asked them to fluff the reviews. Take the advice of all the honest reviews and stay away. You can get a much better apartment with better amenities for the same price in the same area.
Kevin and Darlynn are absolutely amazing. I called them back in December about getting a 1 bedroom apartment for myself for only 9 months because I was uncertain of my career choices at that point. Well they got me in right away and the process for moving in was super easy. About 6 months into my lease I got relocated for work so I needed to get out of my lease at the Tosa Village Apartments, and they also made that request for me incredibly easy. Kevin answered all of my questions and the process didn't take that long at all! Those two really understood my situation and didn't try to screw me just for the money but they really wanted to help me out which is very rare now a days! As for the complex itself I never had any issues with it. My neighbors were very respectable and I never had any problems with anyone or anything in my apartment building. Also, the complex is in an amazing location with the Tosa Village just a short walk away. This complex is surrounded by great food, bars, and also stores. Living at the Tosa Village Apartments was the best decision that I had when I found out I was going to be working in Milwaukee. I highly recommend that you live there to.
Since the transformation of new owners the staff and maintenance have really gone out of their way to fixing any problems with maintenance and the staff team are always keeping us up to date on any changes and on a couple occasions have worked with us when money has been tight. My only concern is the money that I've earned removing a dangerous tree back on September 25th. Here it is 6 weeks later almost and I'm still waiting for payment. Times have been hectic for our family right now financially and counting on this money has really been putting us further into debt. My only hope is that staff kept their word by telling me that my payment was milled out on Tuesday. But here it is Saturday and my hopes are I will be receiving what I worked so hard for. Sincerely, angel and Christina padro, tosa village living.
Never signed a lease. Paid a security deposit. My dad isn't doing well so we decided to stay out by him to help rather than move far away. She is saying we cannot have our security deposit back- at all. Stay away from here. We never moved in and already have to take these people to court just for our money back. We have a whole month and a half before we were even suppose to move in. Stay away from here. Not worth the headache.
I've lived @ Tosa Village Apartments for going on 2 yrs now. I can honestly say it's the nicest apartment complex I've ever lived in. My neighbors are really nice and the management/maintenance staff are always accommodating and helpful. The area has just about anything you could want. Shopping, Dining, Banking, Schools, and A great Park are all within walking distance.
