The hotel is exceptional. Great location and amazing views. My room was spacious, clean, and up-to-date with decor and technology. Everyone at the front desk was knowledgeable, patient and kind. However the customer service of one valet attendant on site Saturday morning 3/2/24 was not pleasant. The gentleman was very aggressive in his tone and demeanor while responding to my question. He also questioned my intelligence, it was at that point I knew to walk away in order to not escalate his temper. Outside of that minor hiccup, I definitely recommend anyone to stay here. It's truly beautiful!
Attractive hotel. The room was also nice and clean. Location is great. Plenty of things to do and restaurants literally steps from the hotel. Its a great hot spot for visitors. My best friend and I stayed for 1 night for a quick getaway. Front staff was amazing and so were the people working valet. However, be prepared to pay $60-$70 to park. And don't expect a complimentary continental breakfast, either. We stayed in a city view room. It wasn't the view I was hoping for. I feel like I could get better views for about the same price elsewhere.
I really enjoyed the room. It was nice, cozy, and everything I needed. What I didn't care too much for was the lack of customer service. Not just at the hotel but within the whole area of downtown where we dined at. The breakfast was not worth $30. If I'm going to pay that much I expect my food to be hot. Everything was warm to cool. Then they automatically add a $5 tip per person. All I received was a glass of water from the waiter that I had to ask twice for. What I enjoyed the most was the short walk to the Botanical Gardens. If you're looking for an attraction I'd check it out. Nearby activities: Botanical Gardens Food & drinks: Around the corner is a Food Court area with multiple places to choose from
This hotel is beautiful! Stayed here with a few friends, and they also enjoyed it. The decor was spot on considering we're into music, and there were music notes on the walls in the room- the Christmas tree in the lobby was gorgeous and perfect for pictures. The lounge served nice drinks and the music and crowd was a vibe. We hung out there twice. Rant too thrilled about the $2 water in my room. I thought I was a member and assumed it wouldn't cost me, but they sure added the$2 The parking garage was huge and little tricky to find the hotel at first. It's connected to a Starbucks and other shops and that was perfect for me since it was fairly expensive to park. The location was also great near restaurants etc. I'll stay here again! Walkability: You can get to lots of places on foot.
I loved this hotel SO MUCH!!! The location couldn't be more perfect for walking to some of Atlanta's most artistic locations! We had a show at the Atlanta Symphony Hall, and the quick 7-minute walk was perfect on a beautiful December evening, especially because the streets are lit up with holiday decor. At the hotel, there were lots of great options for quick meals as well as sit-down experiences. There was also an AMAZING Atlanta vibes brunch spot that we walked to one day. The location is top-notch! The rooms were clean and spacious, and the elevator system worked was so convenient, seamless, and quick, even when there were lots of people needing to get on. The hotel breakfast was delicious! The staff was so responsive to our needs, and they even sent us text messages to check on whether we needed anything. The only thing I didn't love was the $75 valet parking per day, which isn't uncommon for the city. There aren't really any other options for parking. But even with that, I would absolutely stay at the The Starling again!
A day after sharing my first review, Kathryn Day, whom I assume is the GM, responded and requested an email. We connected over the phone, and she was courteous and understanding. Kathryn successfully addressed the matter, and I'm genuinely pleased with the resolution….. We had a delightful experience at The Starling. The rooms were inviting and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the connection to the lovely food hall added to our overall enjoyment. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
I failed to gather photos of the inside of the rooms. But as an avid traveler, I can say that the rooms show their age despite the hotel being renovated less than 4 years ago. Cracks in the baseboards, the bottom of the bathroom rolling "door" appears to have been gnawed at and off of its sliding track. That is the least of my concern at this point. For the two nights I stayed, and the rate I paid, I overlooked the dampening visuals. What I will not overlook is the 'incidental' fee of $100 per night not being returned as of yet. My stay was completed on 2.26; I have just now began to complain as I awaited the prophetic 5-7 business date as stated in the rate details and receipt. I called Hilton support in efforts to release the hold only to be told that "the accounting department has been closed for the past two days". To be sure this isn't the answer Hilton expects me or any guests that pays the incidental fee as they check in. I don't get to "close my card for two business days" when they want to place the hold right? I can't understand anything customer support states, as english is NONE of their native language and am exhausted of the carousel ride of trying to get MY money back. I have an upcoming stay at another Hilton resort and as soon as I find a replacement resort, will be cancelling it immediately. Never again. **update** as I knew a CHATGPT written response would be posted, I have sent emails to Kathryn and others across the hospitality group. Still no response. As I stated in my email, I won't ever be returning and the deposit has NOT been returned. So no resting nor assurance will be had until proof of return has been provided to me.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay but the only problems we had was the check in experience. The valet was full so we were told to park our car in the garage. I was okay with this but then you find that the door to the lobby is locked on the second floor. You have to walk down the floor and back up to the entrance just to get another locked door at the front regardless of how busy the hotel is with a club like environment in the lobby. Parking is also $60 a night. Checking in early on the Hilton app yields zero benefit at this property due to lack of digital key access. Outside of my previously stated problems, our stay was fine. The hotel is in a great location.
The full size glass windows were unclean from outside. The room service was extremely slow. They never came to fix my TV remote. The staff was indifferent. The valet parking service charge was $70 per night. They provide water bottles in your rooms and add that as an extra charges during checkout. The only good thing is it’s close to Piedmont Park
Fantastic location for those who enjoy a good walk. Nearby is Politan Row, Piedmont Park, the Arts Center, Ponce City Market and the Atlanta Fed. The area itself is pricey, but on your lovely stroll, there are several more modestly priced restaurants and free attractions all without paying for a ride share. Staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The space is beautiful with great open spaces to sit with friends and family to talk or play some cards. Only issue we had was a loud neighbor in the hall, but putting on some white noise from my phone was plenty to compensate. Lovely comfortable rooms.
