We usually process our own meat. But, we weren’t able to this year so we took them to Trailsend. We’ve dropped off two bulls and a deer this year so far. All three were returned within a week. The drive through drop off process was very easy. They are a small shop that takes pride in their work. They don’t have a massive grinder like Schaffer’s. You get your own meat back.
I was referred here by some good friends. Been going here for over 4 years now and every year has been the same great service with great meat. My kids and I enjoy going here for the conversation and great service. Great experience for my kids and they devour their meat that they get back. We have never had any issue with being shorted
I've been using Trails End for the better part of 6 years now and I'm always happy with their service. Dropped off my deer on Tuesday and got a call Friday afternoon that it was ready to pick up. I've never felt shorted on meat either. One of the things that makes me happy is that I always request no suet in my burger and this is the only cutter in town that a. Does that every time and b. Does that without complaint. Fast service, friendly folks, and very reasonable prices. I'll continue to take my harvest to Trails End.
Horrible Service! Save your money! Go somewhere else! We had one full buffalo butchered at trails end and another quarter of Buffalo. The meat is disgusting! It’s chewy, there’s old, dried meat mixed in with the burger, it doesn’t taste good and it was only ground one time. We can’t even give it away! The first buffalo that was processed should’ve had around 400 to 500 pounds of meat. We only received a little over 200. This isn’t our first time getting a Buffalo processed either. Just a horrible experience! Would NEVER recommend this meat processing outfit. Many other Buffalo hunters also had a horrible experience with them this past fall! I hope they leave reviews too!
Two years ago we dropped off an Elk and had Trails End Meat make steaks, burger, breakfast sausage, and had them grind the rest with no fat added in to 2lb packages so we could make are own sausage. We really enjoyed our experience. Flash forward this year and we dropped of a small mule deer. We ask them to cut as much steak as possible and grind the rest with no fat added for 2lb packages again like last year, to be made into sausage later. We were unable to pick up the meat but had a relative pick it up and bring it over during the holidays. When they brought the meat over and we unpacked it we received 7 steak packs not labeled to any specific cut and a big blue bag filled, with 20 pounds of unground freezer burnt meat. The meat was not wrapped just loosely tied in a knot like a garbage sack. We will definitely be looking for different options next year. For 70 dollars we a beyond disappointed.
They tried telling me I shot an antelope in the hind quarters. Guess what... I FIELD DRESSED IT. I know where I shot it! Yielded 10#'s. HAHAHA. I will never be back and will go out of my way to tell people not to go there. Meat Palace last year yielded 54# for an antelope of near equal size.
I dropped off two whole elk that had only been shot one time each. I got back 74 lbs. of steaks and 76 lbs of burger. That only equals about 1 elk. Granted the cow had been shot through the shoulder but there definitely should have been more meat. I called about the lack of meat and they just so happened to find two more boxes of meat, when we picked it up it was 44 lbs more of burger. I would NEVER take an animal to them again as I feel like I didn't get back what I should have. In my opinion.
We have taken our wild game there for several years. My dad and I both shot cow elk on a Saturday this year and our meat was processed by Monday. They are friendly, fair, and treat you well! They put the meat in vacuumed sealed packages. The meat has great flavor and it is reasonably priced. We got a lot of meat from our processed game. I recommend taking your wild game to them!
Bought 4lbs of jerky and 2lbs of meats sticks weighed them myself and got 1.34lbs of meat sticks and 1.78lbs of jerky. Also I got about 9lbs of steaks and 13lbs of burger from one deer. So I got about 25lbs of meat from my entire deer I shot through the heart. I would not recommend anyone coming here.
Fantastic when it comes to how fast you get your animal possessed. I highly recommend the bratwurst. Got my elk back in 3 days and some of the best meat I've ever had I highly recommend them.
