Had our first t-ball class for our 3 yr old son. Didn't expect much because it was a basic class for 2-4yr olds but we still found ourselves terribly disappointed. The instructor didn't show up by class start time. I had to call the office number who then reached out to the instructor who then later showed up late and set her equipment down in the dark evening class at a public park, pitch black outside and no moon instead of making use of the park lights and setting up there in lit areas. She then sat down on a park bench and waited for everyone to notice her clear across the park from where we had all gathered in the most lit part of the grassy area...thinking logically that's where the instructor would want to set up. There was no apology from the instructor for her tardiness and she did not even introduce herself with her name. She was not very friendly/active /smiley with the kids. The plastic bat she had the kids use had a large dent in it. Her long hair was down and dangling in all the kids' eyes when she was trying to position them to hit off the tee. Her baseball lingo was not very accurate when talking to the kids. She didn't run the class later even though she arrived later. I9 has already started or we would just switch over. Very disappointed with this class that could have been so much better with proper instructor hiring, training, and supervision. ---- Update: I shared feedback with the company and the instructor was replaced. The subsequent classes have been fantastic. Thank you!
Toddler parents - this one's for you! Do not drop $100+ on this nonsense. I live in Long Beach and signed my toddler up for their soccer league. The description of the activity stated: "The first week will be practice and team assignments with the remainder of the weeks being games." So I thought this meant my kiddo would have the chance to run around in some toddler chaos and socialize with other kids. I wasn't expecting professional games at all they are toddlers, after all, but at least some formation of a team vs team situation where they could run around and have fun with each other. That was not the case. They basically do the equivalent of having the kids run drills every week. These are drills they do with their parents, they don't even interact with the other kids. Basically, the same thing - warm up, do the "ice cream" game where each kid kicks the ball into the center, yadda yadda. It's the equivalent of you taking your kid to the park with a soccer ball and playing with them. Why would I spent $100+ for that? Drills are fine for the first session but what about the others? Nope, same thing. 6 weeks of just drills. Coach stands around yelling instructions and then is on their phone or chatting with each other. Zero interest in the kids and she honestly looked like she didn't want to be there most of the time. She was also late a few times this is common - look at other parent reviews that say the same thing. After the 2nd week, I messaged the school and basically shared by concerns that we were not getting what we paid for. The response I got was: "Third week will start the emphasis on soccer gameplay with player versus parent, player versus player, and eventually team versus team. Trifytt sees the whole group as a team. We highlight the ideals of fundamentals to set strong foundations so athletes become familiar with learning the sporting techniques, socially connect with their peers, and grow a passion for the activity. " Spoiler alert, there was no emphasis on player vs. player and nothing with team vs team. So they lied on their description of the activity to take our money and then they lied to our face to get us to shut up. The convenient add-on that they see the "whole group as a team" was the icing on the cake! Anyways, if you want your kid to show up and do the same drills with you, the parent, for 6 weeks, that's what you're getting. If you think you are getting a "team" or any moment where you'll get to see your kid run around in fun toddler chaos and play soccer WITH other kids, you aren't getting that here.
Very friendly
