Story

Tristar Electrical is a family owned and operated full-service electrical contractor. As their customer, you will be shaking hands with one of the owners - Jerry, Scott or Steve Schnute. And earning your confidence is a matter of family reputation for them. It started with one man's life-long passion and fascination with electricity, electrical theory and power distribution. Jerry Schnute worked for Detroit Edison for nearly 40 years. He spent his entire Edison career maintaining the relay systems that protect the electrical grid throughout southeastern Michigan. In 1997, Detroit Edison offered him an early retirement. He saw that as an opportunity to do something he'd wanted to do for years. And so, together with his sons - Scott and Steve - a company was born. And 18 years later, Tristar has established itself as a reliable electrical contractor committed to delivering the best value and service to its customers.
