Years ago I purchase a 20 Ga Raptor which I have used and enjoyed much. I work in wildlife control, so this weapon sees a lot of carry use, and is never in more that a soft case. It sees rain, high humidity, and even gets abused and put away "rode hard and dirty". This weekend I purchased a youth model raptor for my wife, and while we were out throwing some clays my bolt handle was ejected from the bolt. (this is the take down lever) Searching proved pointless, and I was concerned about replacement parts as this was an old style raptor, and I could not find anything on the web.
Monday morning I called TriStar at 9:30 EST., not expecting them to be open yet. The phone was answered on the second ring by guess what? Yes! a real person. And it just gets better from there. I told him what had happened, he asked for the serial number, my address, and said he would have one out to me. I asked "what do I owe you", "nothing, it is covered" he replied.
To have a call answered by a person is great, yet being answered by someone who can resolve the issue rather than sending you on a voicemail chase is unprecedented. Service is great.
I could have paid 400.00 more for a "B" word gun. Shells here are 20 bucks a hundred. A TriStar and 2000 rounds will make a better shot out of anyone than an expensive gun that sits in the safe.
If I ever need another shotgun, I know which brand I will be purchasing. TriStar!
