The room we got was a large king room with the handicapped accessible shower. The room was large & clean with well appointed furniture. There was a tile shower with glass doors and the bathroom was quite sizable for a hotel. The bed was comfortable and there are down pillows which I prefer. We got warm cookies upon arrival yum . We went to the tavern for an appetizer and a drink. The food was not great but the drinks were good. The pool area looks very nice but we didn't go in the water. The only downfall to this place is it's SO big, so bring you comfortable shoes.
A beautiful hotel and conference facility just down the street from the University of Vermont. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Attended a conference here and despite being full, the place did not appear or feel crowded. Very nice gym and pool. The gym is nicely equipped and the pool is spacious. My room was in the North Champlain wing and the hallway had an odd smell but everything else about our five days was very nice. Would definitely stay here again. Nearby activities: Only about a mile and a half from Lake Champlain and the heart of Burlington.
We came for an nice relaxing getaway and decided to stay at this double tree because it was close to the marketplace area, but we quickly regretted choosing this hotel over other places we were considering. The staff were very friendly and accommodating which was a big plus. Also the proximity to the downtown market area was great; however the facility was the downfall. The “clean” towels had brown marks all over them and the bed sheets had rips all over. We also selected this hotel for the pool facilities however it was overtaken by at least 40 children running around ramped, yelling and splashing like a children’s water park. We were in shock by how many unruly children were overtaking the entire hotel. We waited until the children mostly cleared out which was 30 minutes before it closed. When finally settling into the pool area, it was dirty with trash that was left behind under chairs and the heated pool water was actually pretty cold. Not to say it was a bad hotel, but this weekend was definitely not one of our favorite hotel experiences to say the least for the price we paid of over $200 a night. So much for relaxing.
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with this brand. I was in the midst of working two double shifts at a medical facility when I decided to treat myself to a 150$ bed for the 8 hours between my shifts. Check in was mediocre, with rude and dismissive staff but hey, it was 11pm at night. Finding the room took 15 minutes. No, I’m not kidding. No elevator and confusing signage made it all the more frustrating. On top of this, some of the hallways reeked of urine, I’m not sure I want to know why. Finally, I found my room, which smelled like smoker’s perfume. It was so strong, I had to use some deodorizer I had on hand from the hospital I worked for to dispel it. I’m just all around disappointed and disgusted with my experience. Sleeping in my car would have been a better choice, and it would have saved me 150$ dollars worth of rude service and disgusting accommodations. Update - manager I spoke to told me I got a great rate for the room and offered one of their other facilities for me to book in the future. Said that the area of the hotel I stayed was known for being older and less pleasing to stay in.
The owner reached out and asked me to contact the property. I have been left on hold for excessive periods of time. At this point I do not believe that it is their intention to actually make things right. The hotel is tired looking but otherwise clean. We asked for a quiet room. We were put on a top floor but it was immediately above the massive outside air conditioning unit that was very loud and ran all night. The springs on the doors were so strong that other peoples' doors down the hall slammed shut so loudly that it rattled the wall. Days after we checked out we found that we had been charged twice. We are charged one amount on the 30th and then another amount on the 1st. The staff was not able to help and we have had to pursue it with our bank. I have never had such problems with a hotel, ever!
Booked a “double deluxe mountain view” room online directly with this hotel in advance of our stay. Also requested an upper floor. Upon arrival was told no upper rooms available. While we understand that type of request is not guaranteed, since we had booked in advance, we expected that it would be accommodated. Instead we were given a room on the second floor and though we were assured it was a “deluxe mountain view”, the only view we had was of an interstate highway. Also had the hotel generator right below us. We thought the room appeared clean until we found a heel cup from someone’s shoe on the floor under one of the beds! Finally and most incredibly, our room had no cell service! When we asked at the front desk we were told that “yes, they weren’t sure why, but there were some spots in the hotel that had no cell reception”. Further, they had no other available rooms to move us to. We even spoke with the manager but to no avail. Very disappointing to have all these issues while paying so much money for a room actually was charged a higher rate because it was supposedly a “deluxe mountain view” room.
Room was clean and with minimum amenity. Keurig Coffee set was nice. AC was hard to set - in fact, I couldn't figure it out. Nice linens. Pillow cases were too small to contain the while pillows - not sanitary. Front desk was busy with wedding guests but people were nice. Pretty quiet despite wedding groups. Nothing outstanding in terms of problems. Overcall a good stay.
Clean. Was expecting a room with a mountain view but it was a better view of the parking lot and highway. First day there didn't even see the mountains at all! This is more of a good business/work hotel than one for couples. No spa, they have a very open pool that everyone passing by can stare at you, and no hot tub. The restaurant was limited, only had beer and wine, no liquor. Small, uninteresting menu. They offer a cookie with check in but I was not interested in a cookie upon check in. Overall it's a nice hotel but my stay wasn't as enjoyable as I was expecting.
I feel like I did not get my moneys worth. Breakfast was not included and you did not save much if you book it all together. Bathroom felt a bit outdated and there were not enough soaps. The biggest positives were the warm cookies and comfy bed.
