We do day trips to Turtle River quite often. We especially enjoy family hikes on the Fisher/Timber loops. We typically end our hike with a picnic at the trail head/picnic shelter area. The trails are well maintained and easy to navigate, with fun offshoots to do a little exploring. We've seen deer, ducks, frogs, toads, mice, turtles, prairie dogs, and countless birds and squirrels at different times. I am knocking off one star because the parking lot and picnic shelter areas are in need of some trash clean up. We saw many beer cans, broken glass, and even a condom. Otherwise a great place for a family hike and picnic!

This is a great clean place to camp. Park staff put on a great raptor show in the parks theater area . Bathrooms were clean all the time. Had a blast fishing the river. Definitely will make the trip over again .

When I lived in Grand Forks this was my favorite hiking spot. By North Dakota standards this park is pretty nice.
