I don’t usually go out of my way to give bad reviews, and this isn’t on the whole company as I have had decent help before. But when I just called at 3:45pm to this location, the lady who answered was pretty rude at my request to make a transfer, a transfer the exact same that I had made the month before, “uhhh we can’t do that”, I said well you did last month, “well you can try the 1-800 number”, I said I prefer to just talk to the bank manager like last time, “hold on” , then I’m left on hold for 10minutes before I gave up. For as much money as I keep in this bank, I expect to at least be treated with courtesy.
This review is for the US Bank on Pacific in Albany. They have the worst customer service of any bank I've ever been to. They refused to process two transactions in the drive through "because it would take too long" but I had been in line for a long time and I was just making deposits. The guy who "helped" me was so rude. If I could give zero stars I would.
In 35 years of business I have never seen such treatment and violation of civil rights at a national bank in my life. What was suppose to be a relatively simple transaction turned out to be a complete nightmare that lasted close to 2 hours. My 85 year old mother who has difficulty walking entered the bank to get a cashier's check for $67,000. Very simple because I printed out exactly the way the check was to be written on an index card and that was handed to the teller. The teller did not follow instructions and screwed up the cashier's check. This started a chain of events that would end very badly and was made profoundly worse by the branch manager. My mom did not catch the error until she returned to the car. When she discovered the mistake which was 2 minutes later, she walked back into the bank and asked the teller to create a new instrument and was told that could not happen because it's a cashier's check. That is when I became involved to try and rectify the situation.. The teller could have simply redeposited the check and issued a new one as originally instructed. He instead told me it could not be done and reiterated what he told my mother. I vehemently told him he was wrong and he referred me to his manager. The lack of knowledge in banking regulations exasperated the mistake to a point of elderly abuse for keeping my mother hostage for literally an hour and a 1/2 trying to correct a mistake that they made. I cannot go into too much more detail because I do plan on litigation as well as filng a complaint with the division of financial regulations of the state of Oregon. The teller eventually recognized his mistakes and was very apologetic, but the branch manager is so arrogant that he never even addressed my mother and refused to apologize to her even after I asked him to. I guarantee you he would never never ever in his life allow anyone and I mean anyone to treat his mother or grandmother in the manner that he treated my 85 year old mother!!! We use to park millions of dollars at this institution, but in the last decade have moved all funds to other banks for good reason.
Typically, when I have a bad experience at a business, I simply avoid them in the future as opposed to writing negative reviews. However, many years of poor service coupled with my experience yesterday have prompted me to write my first negative review ever, congrats US Bank! I’ll start by saying this branch consistently has the longest lines of any branch I’ve ever been to, and I’ve lived in 5 different cities. There always seems to be plenty of employees in the back but only a single teller helping the line as it grows and grows. Many other reviews of this branch suggest a similar issues, clearly this branch does not have value or respect there customers. Yesterday, I attempted to deposit two checks from my title company made out to my wife and I who have separate accounts. They refused to deposit the checks which totaled under $600, yes UNDER $600, because we don’t have a joint account. I’ve never had this issue at the downtown branch or any other branch for that matter. I’ve had multiple accounts with US Bank for over 20 years. I have perfect credit and have consistently repaid loans from US Bank totaling tens of thousands of dollars and they won’t deposit two checks totaling under $600... The multitude of issues myself and others have had with this branch suggest poor management and a lack of care for their customers. Strongly considering changing banks as this is the branch closest to my new home and I just can’t deal with this level of incompetence.
Absolutely by far the worst bank I have ever been to. Rude period. I wouldn't recommend this bank to an enemy. I have no idea why I was treated the way I was treated, and lied to, and made a fool to stand out in the rain. Only to be once allowed 2 weeks ago to cash a check here, when I was driving to the window, but this time I walked I like my exercise. And even with multiple proof of identification I was turned down and told they don't normally cash economic impact payments/ stimulus. Oh I could go on I just felt alot of prejudice and I hope people read this and think before even coming to this bank. Ruined my day.
I've never had a problem at this branch or with U. S. Bank in general. I only used the ATM this time there was no wait. 3 stars from me means it was all good, it takes alot to get 4 or 5 stars out of me. But I appreciate the response so you get another star.
An absolute joke. It’s June of 2021 and the inside tellers are still not open. This is the only US Bank branch in Albany now and you have to wait in line for over an hour in the drive through. I recently went to a few other banks and they are fully open inside. Highly considering changing banks, I’ve been with US for 10 years.
Slowest service in drive through. It’s at least a 30-40 min wait to get 4 cars in front done. In response to US Bank. I do most banking digitally but per the requirements of US Bank, some banking requires depositing large amounts of cash. Taking 10 mins per car is unacceptable for customers. Open up the lobby for not just appointments only so your customers can have a better experience.
Halie assisted me 5 minutes before the drive-up window opened. With little sleep due toLittle sleep due to working graveyards and a long drive it was a pleasent experience. She completed my transaction correctly and was very curtious. Thanks Halie.
I've been a US Bank customer for over 10 years, and have never had to deal with a branch like the one in Albany. Simple transactions seem to be too complicated, and that is without the attitude they normally give you. Almost as if doing their job is putting them out. Will happily drive another 15 minutes out of the way, instead of dealing with them. Seriously considering changing banks.
